Cabela's sale on smokers

Do it! You won't be sorry. Personally I'd choose one of the cheaper gas models. Wood chips are cheap enough from Home Depot or Lowe's. The more expensive ones aren't going to make your smoked meats taste any better.
 
I still have, use, and love, my lump charcoal fueled barrel smoker. But it's a major PITA when it's cold and windy out maintaining temperature. That's why I'm pushing for a thermostatically control smoker. Basically something along the lines of set it and forget it {hopefully}

And I have to wait for Santa......or so I'm told! :)
