Cable Bill For Broadband.

Some of us were talking about the price of cable yesterday,And I thought some of you may use this info.I went to pay my cable bill today,and asked if I could get rid of anything to lower my bill.Long story short I got $29.00 knocked off by using my right to take advantage of special discounts.I don't have to pay for my digatel box for the next 6 months.They will not inform you of this,But by law they have to give you the same discount as anyone else is being offered.I don't know all of the rules,But I think it would pay to check it out,I am paying 29.00 less for the next 6 mos. :)
 
Sooo what is the regular price of Cable? More or less expensive than DSL? Ive been interested in ditching my dial up. Thx.
 
Earthlink has a special promotion with Time Warner cable that will get you Roadrunner for $41.95 a month and you don't have to take Standard cable to get it.
 
Thx Tiny, I guess it is just a throw up between DSL and Cable now. There just about the same price.
 
well i know that depending on how many people are online and how close you are to the server determines your speed for DSL...it can be slow with a lot of people online and the farther away you are from the server the slower your service.

it doesnt matter with cable.

but i have DSL at work and Cable at home.......they are about the same....but i have a slow ass computer at home...getting a new one soon..so maybe that will boost my speed.
 
I like the support from cable better than that of DSL.I had dsl at my other office,and had a lot of trouble with tech support.:)
 
That would be Time Warner.I could not believe I cut my bill by 29.00 by just asking for a better rate.:)
 
we have Adelphia (arg)......our local office is suffering major cut backs because of the crap that Adelphia is going throug...it took them a month to come out to our house and fix our cable.

but the tech support, i guess that nationally, for the cable modem is great....i had to call last night, they did everything they could to help us out.
 
DEI,Were you having trouble getting on last night,I was with Roadrunner.I called too,And they gave me a ref# to call back today,But it is working fine this morning.:rolleyes:
 
yea...apparently there was a bad storm in my area last week and it messed up the local server or something.....i was on vacation last week so i dont know what went on here.

they said they would fix the problem asap...well with Adelphia having the problems they are having...who knows when it will be fixed.
 
Bout time Monkeys fly out your butt,If it is like here.They were real good when I first started with them.I always get that deer in the headlight look from most of the reps.I will have to get a special tech,They say. :p
 
We have Adelphia cable at home too. In fact, when it was offered, I think they said we were among the first 10 homes to get it, and the only one on this particular server or whatever it is. I don't speak tech. :eek: But there still isn't anyone else on whatever it is we were the first to get on. (Ain't this frustrating for all you tech-heads? At least I ain't called it a thingy...) So our speed is pretty good, no restrictor plates yet.

Now, this crap we have at work....:crashcomp
 
i think we pay like 45.oo a month with modem rental of 9.00 a month included in that
