hmmm kind of strange i thought townsend bell drives the road course races

That is strange, I'm surprised IRL lets her race.

Milka Duno - fastest woman in the world. :sarcasm:

Townsend Bell should be running this car all year. I dont know what D&R are thinking down there.

Well, qualifications are over. Danica qualified 14th. I was hoping for better since she had some good practice today. But, she can make it up there during the race and be right in contention.

The Firestone Fast 6 had some shuffeling going on and it was Ryan Briscoe who ends up winning the pole. Congrats Ryan. Marco Andretti barely missed making the Fast 6. Helio Castroneves had some steerage linkage problems and did not run for qualifications. This is why he is starting at the back.

Here is your starting grid...

1. #6 Ryan Briscoe
2. #02 Justin Wilson
3. #17 Ryan Hunter-Reay
4. #9 Scott Dixon
5. #5 Oriol Servia
6. #11 Tony Kanaan
7. #26 Marco Andretti
8. #14 Darren Manning
9. #10 Dan Wheldon
10. #4 Vitor Meira
11. #18 Bruno Junqueira
12. #8 Will Power
13. #19 Mario Moraes
14. #7 Danica Patrick
15. #33 EJ Viso
16. #36 Enrique Bernoldi
17. #15 Buddy Rice
18. #06 Graham Rahal
19. #96 Mario Dominguez
20. #27 Hideki Mutoh
21. #20 Ed Carpenter
22. #2 AJ Foyt IV
23. #34 Jaime Camara
24. #24 Jay Howard
25. #23 Milka Duno
26. #3 Helio Castroneves (Did Not Have Qualification Run)

My brothers are down there right now at "the boot" cameras at the ready! I told them to wave to us! :) I should have some good pics for all of you when my oldest brother gets them to me. He's a semi-pro photographer and has MAJOR photo equipment.

They called me from down there and my brother said they couldn't tell how many were fans or employees of Camping World since they have TONS of motor homes there on display and for sale - if you have a couple 100k(!) and they're not only in reserved camping but all over. My brother said they could give him one and he couldn't afford the gas to take it home. :)

That was pompous of Dixon's. I can't believe they're allowed to block traffic like that.

I can not understand why IndyCar takes sooo long to go back to green after a caution. There is absolutely no reason for there to be as many yellow flags laps as there are. It's the same thing every week!:mad::mad:

WTF?

They were going to go green and Milka Duno and AJ Foyt IV wrecked UNDER CAUTION.

IRL penalizing Danica for running over pit equipment, a full 7 laps after the incident happened. Why did they wait so long?

This race is a joke.

The wreck, Milka Duno ran out of what little talent she has. :XXROFL:

ANOTHER WRECK UNDER CAUTION!

Briscoe and Dixon. WTF is going on in Watkins Glen?

Scott Dixon, the points leader, spun in front of Briscoe. Briscoe had nowhere to go and ran over him.

This is weird.

Ryan Hunter Reay leads at The Glen.

Crash, Jamie Camarra, caution is back out with 9 to go.

 The race will probably end under yellow now

A first time winner, Ryan Hunter Reay wins at Watkins Glen! :beerbang:

Congrats to Ryan and Rahal/Letterman racing on the win, to Darren Manning for a strong second, and to TK for driving to a third place finish with a broken wrist! :beerbang::beerbang::beerbang:

Another first time winner in the IndyCar series....Ryan Hunter-Reay takes the checkered flag at the Glen. Good job Ryan, you deserve it!

Ryan has really turned it up this year. I expect to see this name in the winner's circle again.

So, um, where's Danica?

Unfortunately, Danica had an incident in pit lane. She got on the gas a little much with those tires and nearly strikes a pit crew member of Target Chip Ganassi and she damages the front wing. She had to go around and then re-enter pitlane to get a new front wing put on. Then later she had to do her drive-thru on pit lane for the penalty reference the incident. So she finishes 14th.:(

I try not to relive the moment. It hurts too much.

Congrats Ryan! They did a lot of wrecking down where my brothers were so maybe I'll have some pics for you at some point. I hope they had a good time anyway. I think no matter how boring it looks to us on TV, it's exciting when those cars are whizzing by you. I hope so anyway. :)

Yep, they said they had a great time, despite what we saw on TV.
