Return of the Intrepid? It was reported during NBC's coverage of the Checker Auto Parts 500 at Phoenix International Raceway that some Dodge teams would roll out a Dodge Intrepid in place of the Dodge Charger for the Ford 400 at Homestead-Miami Speedway.(11-14-2005)

I do not even think they could do this since NASCAR approves the car that is racing and they approved the Charger this year not an Intrepid???

The last three model years are eligible to compete in the upper three series of NASCAR. Thus the Intrepid can still be run if a Dodge team so choses.

Yuppers, remember when the Tortoise came out in 98 and some teams elected to stick with the Thunderbird on the restricter plate races.

Can't say I blame them.
But if I were Dodge I'd take it as a slap in the face and an indication that our designers failed miserably. (which they should, because they did)

Wow I did not realize that was the case. Thanks for the information

That's why you still see an occassional PONTIAC in the Busch Series I guess
