I have first generation Sync in my little Focus. The features are awesome; voice command phone dialing, voice command music from the USB port, wireless Bluetooth audio from the iPhone, etc.
Next week I'm going to upgrade the sound quality. I'm keeping the stock head unit (with the Sync) and upgrading everything else. I chose some awesome products from Rockford Fosgate. They make a digital sound processor that enables the listener to customize and personalize the sound: ( )
I also chose the 2013 P1000X5, 5 channel amplifier and a dual voice coil, 4 ohm shallow subwoofer because there's not enough bass from the stock-size 6X8 speakers. I did upgrade the 4 speakers to 80W each. I'm also going to add two RF dash tweeters with separate programmable crossovers (on axis-off axis). I didn't go crazy with the wattage, I'm staying 4 ohm on the 4 channel and going to go 2 ohm on the little sub.
It won't be the best out there but it will be crisp and clean. The amp comes with a wired remote that allows the listener to choose between 4 different sound set-ups that were programmed into the processor, as well as a sub level control.
