Checked the local track web site for opening day results. Then checked the rosters and found only 15 Pro Stocks (aka super late model at other tracks) registered. This is the top series here, normally they ran 2 heats and maybe a consi to establish the 24 car field main. Counts for the other 3 series are the same, way down. There's only 89 total registered for the year. 5-7 years ago car count was over 175.
:(

Strip mall here we come,,,

Our car counts are higher this year, albiet due to Southern National going up for sale.

Only thing is track is on very valuable land. They've built a ton of homes and businesses around the track over the years and people gripe, *****, whine and moan about the noise (so why did you move there dumbass?

) and several developers have offered over $30 million to buy the land and flatten the track.

It's not a matter of if, but when. Steve's fighting, says it'll be open for 8 years, but Prince William County's talking about using eminent domain, siezing the land and selling it off piece by piece to developers.

Closest dragstrip to ODS is MIR and Crofton and both are over an hour away. Closest paved oval to ODS is Langley, Southern National (RIP) and South Boston and all are over 3 hours away.

I'm ****in' sick of the government siding with retards who are too damn stupid to do research on where they're moving to see if there might be an airport or a racetrack (that's been there for over 60 years:rolleyes:) in their backyard.
