Pretty funny video, but also a bit scary. It's stuff like this that makes me a bit uneasy riding my bike, especially in areas with heavier traffic.

Idiots in L.A. ride their bicycles on the most heavily traveled roads. They think they own the road. They'll be 10 or 15 deep going through Malibu Canyon on a Sunday and will not let cars pass them. Some of them get mashed. Deservedly.
I don't understand why they have to dress like they're in Cirque du Soleil.

We have bike lanes beside most of our roads and all of our bridges. We have bike trails that parallel a lot of the roads. But a lot of the assholes insist on riding en-mass in the middle of our roads and highways. Sometimes while following them doing 20 in a 45 mph zone I feel like going mad max on their asses but alas I just cool off and trail along with the rest of the pissed off drivers. They could get some very serious and expensive tickets but all that ever happens is a warning if anything.

There's a organization of bike riders here who ride several times a week. Rt 1 is a divided highway and they ride in the rt lane, the break down lane is rough pavement. But when they want to turn around they stick their left arm out and point. I still haven't figured out how that will stop a 3,000 +/- pound car doing 50 mph. Each year riders spend time in the hospital trying to figure it out also.
They spent millions tearing up old railroad tracks, grading and paving into smooth bike paths that no body uses.

I generally dislike cyclists. They preach "share the road" but they drive on it like they own it.

That said, kinda feel bad about the douchebag gopro wearer's bike. You know it's not cheap. Some of those bikes are worth upwards of 10 grand.

They really should stay on sidewalks and bike trails. It's a safety issue. I don't drive my car on railroad tracks because my truck has like 1/100th the horsepower and mass of a train. It's dangerous.

Can't stand cyclists because in their mind share the road goes only 1 way.

Apparently you all missed the fact that this happened in a lane where bikes are permitted.

It's illegal to bike on the sidewalk, at least in my state. Bikes are to follow traffic laws the same as a motor vehicle.

I do disagree with the idiots who ride in the middle of the road, though.

Pretty sure it's illegal everywhere. A good question is why. Why are bikes supposed to be riding out there with 3-ton motor vehicles? Seems like the damage a bike could do to a pedestrian on a sidewalk is a lot less than the damage a car could do to a bike on the road.

People are allowed to walk up the street even if there aren't any sidewalks (barring restrictions, of course). Same goes for bikes. I always ride on the shoulder, not in the road itself. It shouldn't be too hard for a car to safely avoid a cyclist, just like a car driver has to avoid other pedestrians, parked cars, etc. Like I said, I'm not a fan of people riding in the middle of the road, or even on the "right half" of the road. A foot from the edge of the road is fine - big packs are obnoxious on public streets. That being said, I have seen some idiot cyclists who weave or turn without indicating and put everybody in hazardous situations. The vehicles will always win against bikes... I always remember that when I'm out riding ;)

There was a pack of 10 or so bicyclists going along the lakeshore here. My buddy was a deputy sheriff. He happened to catch them all blow through a stop sign. He stopped them and gave them all tickets, the whining was deafening.

If you wanna ride in the road you gotta follow the rules as if you're a car.

Bike assholes generally get out of my way once I let the Jake brake rip...
That being said, they ARE the most dangerous obstacle on they road.
