I think NASCAR was unfair in the Carl Edwards incidences.
I can maybe see the first one because he did gain a position while trying to avoid a wreck.
In the second one at the entrance to pit road, he was clearly avoiding a multi-car collision and did not advance his track position, yet he was still penalized.

the rules says you cant go below the yellow line unless you are trying to avoid a wreck....ok so next time does Nascar want him to stay above or right on the yellow line and run over the cars that were in front of him slowing down?

he went below to avoid a wreck....bad bad bad call on nascars part.

typical.

You see it is politically correct to enforce the rules.. So they get enforced even when we and they know it is stupid to do so..

I got a bit preturbed at that call also---as Carl and crew did.

On hindsight, I wonder why it was Carl didn't see the signals from drivers who were slowint down? I can't believe it was because he was not paying attention. In fact, the cars slowing down were nearly ina pileup, as I reacll.

More rules griping fodder I guess.

I think him going under cars going half as fast as he was is what got him on that. Otherwise, I agree with his stance. If I was a racer, I could see me doing what he did on not wanting to come in to prove a point.

As low as the drivers are in the car, and as high as the spolier and decklid are in the are it is VERY had to see hand signals.

Agree, totally, lappy!!!! Good point!!! But, I can see both sides here. I understand Carl's displeasure at the vcall, but I also see NASCAR's reasoning.

Just another "Catch 22" thing.

Carl got screwed by the Nascar on this one, are the same guys who worked the superbowl replay booth working for Nascar?

i agree lappy. oh, but wait. for all we know, the "to avoid a wreck" part might have been erased (remember, the rule book is in pencil).

but i dont agree with the call

He should of slowed down and just went down pit road, and maybe the whole thing would of been over looked.

My seat is bolted right to the floor board. if you go any higher your helmet would be in the roll cage and thats a hugh racing no-no.
