Carl Edwards has a sponser for 2005!

I wish Carl all the luck in the world, I just hope this move isn't to soon. I do believe Carl has a great deal of potential and a promising future.

Maybe all of a sudden Jeff Burton was the problem huh?

Hmmm... no less than what, 5 days?, after Jeff Burton leaves the #99 and suddenly Roush has a full time sponsor for the #99 in 2005, after "countless" of time searching for that sponsor for Jeff Burton.

Interesting.

Having a sponsor is always great! :D Driving for Roush, is something else!! :(

My opinion, mind you.

Agreed DE!
And I think it's too soon for Carl to move up.

Smith declined to name the company, but he confirmed his owner's feeling about getting the Missouri native ready for the Cup circuit.

Makes one go hmmmmmm

I for one, don't think it's too early for Carl to move up. I think he'll open a lot of eyes in his debut in cup, too. Look at all of the other drivers in cup who had less success than edwards has at the lower levels. J.Johnson stunk it up on a regular basis in Busch, Kahne & McMurray weren't exactly the BGN favorites every week, either. Kurt Busch had successs in trucks but made the same jump to Cup as Carl will. All have had great success in cup, though. I think it's a good move.

This does make one sit back and go Hmmmm. For a driver of Burton's stature to go this long without a sponsor and then 1 sign as soon as he gets out of the car is a slap in the face, IMO. I agree, things between Burton and the Rousch organization may not be all rosy. Also, Mark Martin seems to have taken all of this a little hard...

Just an addition to this whole Young Guns thing. Lots of quality drivers may get passed up because they don't get there "break" when they are 18-22.

Looks to me like Carl's as ready as Brian Vickers is, and I don't see too many people hollering about that one.

$5 says Edwards will perform better next year than what Vickers has done this year.
