Cars of the 50's & 60's

Ya know, if someone could marry today's engine and electronic enhancements with some of those body styles at a reasonable price I think they'd find a ready market...

If you think about it then it shouldn't cost any more to build a retro body with a current engine than it does to build one of the new cars.
A 62 Impala may cost a little more than an 08 Impala but mostly due to the size difference.
And yes they would have to pick a body style, such as they did with the PT Cruiser, to mass produce that the public would buy.

Hmmm, I notice that it's us old farts that are even replying to this. Great show! Gawd how I wish I had some of those cars...just one!

Who you calling an old fart. :)

Yeah, I sure do wish I had one of those cars, any one of them. I remember them well. I once owned a 1951 Ford, then a 1952 Ford and then a 1958 Ford. None of which were new at the time I owned them. I also owned a New 1964 Pontiac Tempest.

My daily driver for the past 25 years has been my 63 Ford F100.
The newest vehicle I have is my 72 F100. Also got a 67 Fastback Mustang.

My first car was a '50 Studebaker. Flat head six. Gave $35 for that beauty. Next car was a 56 Ford, then I got a 55 Chevy. Loved each and every one of those cars.

btw, when you watched the video did you hear Robert Mitchum singing "Thunder Road". It was the only time ever that a song was played completely at the beginning of a movie that told the whole story of the film. What a great movie it was.
