The nortorious accident filled race was no different this year. The walls had already collected two cars before the green flag even dropped. Both coin cars. Next accident was lap one turn one. Bourdais dive bombs Moreno and sends him into the tyres, two turns later same lap Servia, Domingez, and Tiago collect each other ending with servia out with a broken right rear, and Domingez a smashed front wing and flat right front. Tiago suffered little damage and kept going. Later on Fernandez and Mannings clashed wheels with both miraculously kept it straight and kept going. Fernandez commented on the radio that his car actually felt better afterwards. With last round of pit stops complete, Patrick on cold tyres was dive bombed by a very brave Domingez who didn't even try to make the corner and Patrick was caught on the outside and was hit fairly hard by Domingez who was a lap down by the way. In the end the favorite Paul Tracy wins yet again in Canada followed some 20 seconds behind by the unforntunate Bruno who was black flagged to let Tracy pass because of a jump start. If you see this race they have a great angle that shows the cars exiting the final corner and the starter stand about to throw the green. Bruno did jump Tracy and had a good two to three car lengths on him before the starter threw the green. If the starter didn't like the jump Bruno had on the pole sitter Paul then he shouldn't have thrown the green is my opinion. The rule also states that either the pole sitter or second place man can lead or take the green, so it was basically a legal start.
