Did I hear right ? Nascar asked the drivers at the test session to form up in a pack so they could see how the cars react to the changes they have made. Chad told his crew NOT to participate . WHAT ? If he won't participate SEND THE 48 HOME . This is a Nascar session by invitation right ?

Chad not ever there must have send a TxX MESSAGE

I say if the 48 won't do it, tell them to load up and go home and let it be a surprise to JJ and Chad how the car's gonna react on race day.

They said that Chad was on Vacation in Africa and he told them not to run in that session because that is a real good car and he didn't want to take a chance of tearing it up.

So....I guess Chad thought that the others were running ...junk cars? Send them home until they get a note from Chad saying they can play with the other kids on the playground.

Bad form just run a few laps, and think of problem to put it on the jack stands, and look sad. End of problem.

Maybe they will read this and take your advice and do that.;) They have been reading fans twitter remarks all day.

And then, why show your cards this early in the poker game. ;)

I thought Chad liked the back end dented up on his 'good' cars? ;)

Some Championship teams are Champs because they don't do what everyone else does. If it was a mandatory requirement then why weren't ALL the cars out there? Because it wasn't mandatory.

I can understand why Chad might be a little afraid to mix it up with the big boys , no doubt he will order Jimmy to ride around at the back of the pack again in February .Meanwhile why not send them home?

Sorry ,meant to add;)

Yea lets send Finch Home Too

Busch said the Phoenix Racing crew sent team owner James Finch a picture of the No. 51 on top of the scoring pylon and he was doing "backflips." The car itself was "good."

“It’s very stable rules-package-wise,” Busch said. “This is my first time driving Finch’s car, but it’s more stable than what I’ve had to drive in the past.”

Busch did not participate in the big drafting pack segments of the session because Phoenix Racing brought only one car to test at Daytona and did not have the time to make necessary modifications before the pack drafting began."

A little mad that no Fords were in the top ten in testing speeds today? :D j/k

I could be wrong, but didn't Busch also make a statement yesterday that he felt he has a better chance of winning the championship this year then he ever has in the past? I sure don't blame them for sitting out. Nascar is not going to pay for their car if they crash it.

Bad Chad, just remember NASCAR has a way of making things difficult for those that don't play along with them........Good Luck to the 48 in Tech come 500 time!

If TV got it right, Kurt is in the car that got Finch his only cup win way back back in 2009. That's an old frame.

Your comparison of the 48 car not running because they don't want to and the 51 car not running because they can't is very funny. :p

I made a mistake yesterday in post 19 when I said that Kurt Busch made a statement that he felt he had a better chance of winning the championship this year. I watched the interview again and he actually said that he felt he had a better chance of winning the Daytona 500 this year. "oops" that's what happens when I multitask and try to talk on the phone, watch tv, and type on a laptop at the same time.

I don't see a problem with what he did. I mean we know they likely won't be pack racing in the 500 so why put your car out there and risk tearing it up for nothing.

Seriously ? As bad as this point is , at least it was race related . They are talking about cable companies in the other thread .What's that about ?

Seriously who gives a **** if the run in the pack or not. It doesn't potentially hurt anyone but themselves. Also how do you think Jr likes about running in the pack this morning?

Nascar Sent There Azzes Home

Most drivers tested in a large pack to begin the session.
#10-Patrick, #14-Stewart, #51-Busch, & #6-Stenhouse, Jr. have left and are not particiapting in this session. Stewart and Stenhouse are on their way to the Chili Bowl in Tulsa. Trevor Bayne ran a few laps in the Roush Fenway #6.
NASCAR has moved the pressure relief valve back to 25 psi (up from 20psi in the morning session).
#31-Burton & #88-Earnhardt, Jr. spun while running in the pack. Montoya appears to get into the rear of Earnhardt, sending him into Burton. Earnhardt drove to the garage. Burton's car was towed to the garage to see if it could be repaired, but the team decided to not get back on track.
#88-Earnhardt, Jr. ran a few laps in the #48 Chevy after sustaining damage to his car in the accident with Burton.(1-14-2012)

These 3 days of testing were for Nascar to develop a rules package to help eliminate the tandem draft. It seems to me they wanted them to run in a pack for testing purposes. The teams were asked to participate to help come up with a package that might get fans to quit complaining.
When they come back next month Nascar may change everything again. After all they made some big changes during the 3 days.
Teams are always willing to do the tests, any amount of track time is valuable.
