Changes At Atlanta Motor Speedway
Atlanta Motor Speedway officials say three major additions will be in place before the Oct. 29 race weekend. More than 13,000 grandstand seats have been added to the newly created Winners Grandstand, located at the Turn 1 end of the frontstretch. More than 7,700 individual-style chair seats with drink holders and 5,300 bench seats are in the section. A luxury seating section known as "Club One" is also available featuring a climate-controlled area with theater-style seating, a menu and bar and a rooftop observation deck. Finally, the track added a new camping section on the backstretch with more than 90 motorcoach parking spaces. Each has full water, electrical and sewer hookups.(Scene Daily)

OK, I saw a special program locally, and this is going to be AWESOME
$425 will buy you s season pass and you can see each and every event held at AMS, no matter what series!
Atlanta REALLY deserves the NASCAR HOF!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but has this fall race ever sold out at Atlanta?

With that in mind, why would any thinking owner/manager add more, higher priced seats to their facility?

Maybe they figure to draw from a "higher class" crowd and increase their attendance figures? or perhaps they simply figure to sell more of those high dollar seats to corporate customers who won't bother to attend?

OR?

The fall race at Atlanta always has empty seats. Not sure why you would want more.

look for a new date in the 07 schedule? Might be moving closer to summer?

kat, do you have a link? When I go to the AMS site it shows $1,595 per seat per year (6 events). But maybe their site hasn't been updated.
LMS is $750 for the Busch and Cup for the May race. Same sort of situation, buffet, non-alkie drinks, cash bar, CCTV, wait staff, pit pass. This seems to be the new wave the tracks are cashing in on.

Sorry, no link :( It was broadcast on the local TV in a "special".

They need more seats on the front stretch. I'm glad they're adding those toward turn 1.

Keep in mind the back stretch seats are the old front stretch seats under the old configuration. Few tracks have the number of seats on the back that Atlanta does.

AND, the back stretch will be for "LUXURY RVs" and VERY 'spensive!
