Nationwide race on ESPN Classic, SpeedBy Bob Pockrass - Associate EditorThursday, May 01, 2008
ESPN has moved the live telecast of Friday's NASCAR Nationwide Series Lipton Tea 250 at Richmond International Speedway from ESPN2 to a simulcast on ESPN Classic and Speed.

The network announced the move Thursday to accommodate an NBA playoff game between Washington and Cleveland. The pre-race show will begin at 7 p.m. Friday, with the race following at about 7:30 p.m. on both networks.

The race will also be shown in its entirety on ESPN2 at approximately 9:30 p.m., following the NBA game.

ESPN enjoyed its best Nationwide Series rating last week at Talladega (2.6 on ABC, a 28 percent increase over 2007) since taking over as the exclusive broadcaster of the series last year.

Race is on the same channel here. LIVE 3D HD 360° :beerbang:

Y'all enjoy ESPN and FOX's crappy coverage. :)

Thanks TRL! I'm going to have to remember to switch my cable box settings. They're all set for SPEED for practice and qualifying and the ESPN2 for the race. Sure glad I found out ahead of time. :)

ETA: Last year at this time I would have been ticked since we didn't have digital cable yet and you only get SPEED and ESPNC in that package.

You go from ESPN2 HD to ESPN Classic and a crappy picture. Outstanding.
