That's Ric Flair on the hood so the driver is Blaise Alexander, from looking at the finishing order of the race.
Makes sense I couldn't tell what the image was, looked like something crazy.

I still don't know who he is and I think that's probably a good thing.

Sad to know Alexander was dead less then a year later.

Thursday, October 9
7 p.m., NASCAR Sprint Cup Series the Coors Light Pole Qualifying, ESPN2

The Coors folks are going to be pissed when they discover that the Concord track has about 1198 Light Poles.
Bruton does it again

A win for the 10! Oh man I can feel it

Is it Martinsville yet?

Seriously though.. this should be a good one... definitely a pivotal race in this championship for a lot of drivers.

I heard Joey's gonna be driving around sipping tea while listening to classical jazz.

I would love to see Penske start and park the 22. I think all the rules say is that you just have to attempt to qualify for the race in order to advance. The Brian and his merry men would have some serious race fixing thinking to do if that happened.

Teams in both the NASCAR Sprint Cup and Nationwide Series will run the same Goodyear tire codes at Charlotte this week . . . this is the same combination of left- and right-side tires that these teams have run at Charlotte since 2012.

Chase Average Finish (4 races):
Car#-Driver, Avg Fin
#22-Joey Logano 2.5
#42-Kyle Larson 3.25
#18-Kyle Busch 7.0
#4-Kevin Harvick 8.25
#78-Martin Truex Jr 9.25
#24-Jeff Gordon 10.75
#2-Brad Keselowski 11.5
#31-Ryan Newman 11.75
#20-Matt Kenseth 12.25
#99-Carl Edwards 13.25

I hope Jimmie Johnson can win this race so that he can advance. Greg Biffle really screwed him over in Kansas.

Your boy Jimmie has been one of the biggest mysteries of 2014 IMO. Where the heck did that team go? He seemed to be a mid pack racer at best last week. That's a tough place to run when the results have to be good to move on. Unfortunately he got Biffed. Looks like he's going to need a win to move on just like my driver. :(

36 years ago today Bobby Allison won the 1978 NAPA National 500 @ Charlotte beating Darrell Waltrip to the line by 30.2 seconds. The race featured 40 lead changes among 9 drivers.

Maybe it's just not his season? Last year, he was on fire & he won the Championship. This year....eh, he's been more sizzle than steak, unfortunately. :(

The 48 team under performed at Dover. That surprised the hell outta me. If they dont pull a top 5 out at either Charlotte, M'Ville or Texas then I'll believe something is amiss. Didnt they lose their engine tech or someone this past year?

Why would they do that? It's a free test session for the Texas race three weeks from now.
