I must admit I'm happy that Blaney didn't make the race!

That being said it will be a boring race with JJ that fast.

Montoya is 18th?

Unless he does something amazing on race day, it's going to hurt his Chase standing with Martin and Johnson starting on the front row.

Montoya is 18th?
He ran into the back of the #31 coming off 4 on his first lap doing a hell bent for leather charge. Burton had gotten loose going into 3 and let off a bit. These were the first laps on a track just dried. He damaged the front of his car and of course it was all Burtons fault.;)

I am soooooooooooooooo tired of JJ kicking the crap out of everybody. I am so badly hoping something happens Saturday to shake the points up big time.

I wish Travis would have made the show.

JJ was incredibly fast. The fastest qualifying run by anyone all year, at any track.

Howevr, there is hope, JJ hasn't won at Charlotte since they repaved the track.

I think it's going to be another 48 & 5 show.

Agree, might need to throw the 9 in the mix as well. Oddsmakers have JJ at a whopping 2-1................can't touch that one

Looks like another running of the Jimmie Johnson 500:rolleyes:

Doesn't matter, looks like the race might get rained out and I'm going to a hockey game Sunday.

everybody has handed Jimmie the title, and yea, he will be the one to beat...... BUT, as the old sayin goes, ya gotta lose one to win one, and well...... theres another guy that has lost few times, so I wouldn't count him out just yet........ Doesn't matter how good the equipment is, the team is, or even the driver...... ya still gotta have luck. and right now, all it will take is one slip.

No, I wouldn't say everyone has. I sure haven't handed him anything. :)

remember when everyone said you could have one bad showing during the chase and still win the title? i don't think that's the case this year. maybe a mediocre one but i don't think anybody can afford to have a really bad effort and still compete for winning the chase.

"ya gotta loose one to win one"

No offense but what in hell does that mean?

Its an old racin phrase.......... it means ya gotta lose before ya can win...... in other words, until you have been there, and lost, you don't really know what it takes to win it..... Kinda like when Mark lost it in 1990.... he used one of Yates cars in the final race at Atlanta instead of usin the stuff that got him there.......
