I think so. Sure we'd all still be talking about him if it were just the Nationwide regulars but beating those Cup drivers dropping down into the series makes it all that much better.

I don't know that it makes it more special --- I think it shows that Chase is not going to back down. He keeps a level head, doesn't let
him emotions take control of the car. He keeps his cool.

But I will admit, I enjoyed seeing Chase beat the "best". :D

It is definitely more special. I will bet the bank that he is getting much much more respect from his competitors, most of his fans, and anyone else that is around him in the racing community. Anytime you can take out the big dogs it is extra special...you probably only need to look as far as the little Cup team from Denver that did the impossible at Dega a few years ago.

even more is dale jr and harvick were in the same equipment and they couldn't keep up with him and regan smith was even further behind

The thing I like is these kids aren't just outrunning them because they have great cars... but they are out racing them. Larson at Cali and Chase at Texas was awesome to watch!

It was definitely more special for Chase beating the big boys in the same HMS equipment that Harvick and Jr had.

Not wanting to sound like a tin-foil hat guy, but watching Chase kick Harvick and Jr's ass at Darlington in his very first NW start there, made me think that 9 car possibly had something more than maybe it shouldn't have...

wink traction control? wink....

Seeing young talent driving a cup-lite car beating cup drivers in cup-lite cars is as good as it gets in NW these days.

Since these "newbs" beat the big dogs in a lower level racing series, NASCAR should limit them to how many races they can run for the rest of the season. :sarcasm:

I just afraid Chase Elliott and Kyle Larson may win too often and scare Kyle Busch out of the minor series and ruin the whole thing for all of us.
Imagine when they come to the cup series. Jimmie Johnson will have competition... THE HORROR
:eek2:

I think so. Looking at the fact you can run with the best in equal cars just has to be even more special. The kid is the real deal and watching him as he has raced his way up he has proven that he can win in anything. And it is not just because of the car but he can wheel a car with no doubt. A lot of people like seeing him win right now, but will soon hate him, and that is when you know you are doing something right.

I think JJ welcomes the challenge. It's the veterans who haven't gotten it done that will have a problem with them. Denny, Kyle, Kevin, Carl, Biffle, etc.

I wasn't a fan of Bill, after all he drove a Ford, but I think Chase is the real deal and he's going to be just as good, if not better than Bill.

I agree with Chase being better then Bill. Now I am a Ford lover, but in NASCAR Chevy, Ford, and Toyota is nothing more then a sponsor decal. I pull for the driver instead of the make of the car now. Brand loyalty is no longer really needed in NASCAR cause they are all the same.

The only thing that would make this sweeter is if Chase was in #9 Mustang.
Agree, but to be honest Chevy seems to put more into NASCAR then Ford. And with Hendrick... Well I don't care a lot for him, but he knows business.

Uhhh... yeeah! People like Chase are the reason I have no problem with the cup guys running the Nationwide series... they're supposed to be able to run with the big boys.. that's how you can tell they're ready for cup and that's why guys like Chase and Larson will be running Hendrick engines while guys like Justin Allgaier end up in rides like the 51...

So all of the many years of cup experience that Junior, Kenseth, Harvick and Kyle Busch have means absolutely nothing because a high school kid with little experience can outdrive them all in what I consider to be less than desirable equipment. It all seems a bit strange too me, I guess I havent been paying attention :idunno:

Anytime you beat Kyle Busch and Harvick you have had a pretty darn good day. Yes, the cars are good but the kid is a rookie and only 18 years old and has never been to all of these tracks. The Darlington win was a bigger deal to me than Texas just because that place is rough for everybody. Plus, he had to really race for the win. Chase is the real deal. I wont go so far to say he is better than the old man just yet but he sure shows signs of being a natural in a race car.

I think sometimes these kids dont know what they dont know and just run the wheels off the cars and luck out sometimes. Chase seems to have a really good awareness of where he is running and trying to bring it home the best he can even if the car is not that great. Its going to be fun to watch him.

Honestly, I don't care. I hope Chase has a nice season, and when he gets to the show, then we will all see how excited we should be.

Jeff Gordon whopped veteran ass all the time. Then came along Jimmie Johnson. Now comes Chase Elliott ;)

I'm really hoping Chase can get three in a row on Fri night. That would be awesome for himself, NAPA and all of JR Motorsports. Awesome Bill from Dawsonville has to be a very happy father right now.
