Rick Hendrick has big plans for Chase Elliott.

But like any good car dealer, he’s holding back on the fine print.

Elliott, 17, won his first ARCA race on June 8 at Pocono Raceway – in just his seventh start. And he’s competed in three NASCAR Camping World Truck races this season, posting two top-five finishes. He finished sixth in his debut at Martinsville Speedway.

Could Elliott be the first NWS champ and ROTY at the same time? Why not :)

Nothing is set in stone yet but they are talking about it. Hendricks only presence in the Busch series is through Jr Motorsports so that is a possibility. Not sure if it could be a full time ride or what just yet. I am keeping my eye peeled. ARCA race this weekend at Road America and its not on tv!!!!!

Where can I find a live stream of the ARCA race Saturday? Or is there one? Thanks.

Extreme pressure these kids coming up are under . They are expected to perform each and every time out . Has he even been to Road America before ? Hope he can put in a good showing .

ah, we've talked about this here before. Richard Petty was talking about it on Race Hub, owners are looking for young drivers to replace their drivers who are getting older. They will go thru them, just like a training camp. Right now it is Chases opportunity on a golden platter. Hendrick is going to have a slot or two open in cup fairly soon and he can make room for another driver in N'Wide. He's looking. Genassi says they have Larson in an airtight contract. Yeah right. Only way that is going to happen is if Chip gets him in a cup ride and soon. He will either have to get a third car or a driver he has on the roster now is getting the boot. IMO Larson could drive a cup car tomorrow and be doing as well in the points as the other two are doing. Hendrick has a good backup driver in Reagan, but he needs another driver on the roster. No way Chase is even close to driving in cup if something happened to a Hendrick cup driver. N'Wide is a good training ground for Chase, but he had better bloom where he is planted, because the clock is ticking.

He has never been there before in his life and has only driven in one road course period. Could be an interesting day or a disaster. Road courses can humble some of the best talents.

Do you think Andy will cut him any slack if he doesn't win?

When asked if Aaron’s, which currently sponsors Elliott in the Truck series, will move up with the youngster, Hendrick simply replied, “We’ll see. They like him a lot. They’ve been with him since he started. They have a lot of interest in him, a lot of interest.”

I wonder if/how this will affect MWR down the road. I can't think of big primary sponsors for multiple teams except Bass Pro Shops really (RCR, SHR, EGR).

when you pimp them up they got to preform, if not see you latter.

I am way too young to feel this old.

For the record, if I remember correctly, Parker Kligerman's early ARCA performances were way more beastly.. Everyone trying to make Chase Elliott sound like Kyle Larson. lol just kidding... But seriously?

ARCA success means nothing. And I like Parker Kligerman. The OP's just fishing because I don't think Chase Elliott's the second coming of Jesus Christ.

there's some serious young talent in NW right now.

And if Chase Elliott's rushed up to Nationwide while those guys are there, he's gonna get embarrassed. NASCAR doesn't want that which might be why they're perfectly content with the Kyle Busch Show preventing Blaney and Larson from standing out. NASCAR, itself, has bought in to the Chase Elliott hype and even changed their age requirements to get Chase rushed up the ranks. For that matter, ARCA also changed their rules so he could run that Pocono race.

Chase Elliott better hope, for his own sake and the sake of the hype train, that Kyle Larson and Ryan Blaney are in Sprint Cup by the time he enters Nationwide.

There is another rookie, Alex Bowman who is a couple of places behind Larson in N'Wide. He is making rookie mistakes, but he is fast also. Not going to be a picnic, they are throwing him into the fire. I think he is going to have to get better and fast. Jeb Burton would jump in a N'wide car in a heartbeat, might get a N'wide ride next year. bunch of good young hungry ones around.

There are a lot of good drivers in Nationwide and Trucks right now. Larson's talent is just unbelievable.

And RAB Racing still uses Triad engines.

Fact. Elliott is better than any of those mentioned in this thread. He's won the Snowball Derby.

It's sad - but typical - when posting something POSITIVE about a young driver is seen as "fishing" yet the constant Danica trolling, TNT whining and general complaining about everything under the sun is considered what, creative writing? Yeah, right.

I'll continue to give updates and post POSITIVE thoughts about Elliott as long as I'm a member here.

I wonder when nascar is finally going to realize how much better the racing in the NNS and Truck series is without the cup "Ringers". Every year at a stand alone race the fans are amazed at the better racing without the cup drivers and the attendance is the same or better as when there is a cup event there. Even on RFs there are converts to allowing no or very limited cup drivers from entering the lower series, every year, the same as this year, after a stand alone race.

It's kinda that same format in pro boxing . You build a resume of wins against meaningless opponents and that eventually qualifys you for a title shot .

Except In My Opinion and law enforcement, pro boxing has been "fixed" since the late 40s.
