10 races to go until the 2009 Chase for the Sprint Cup Series Championship.

So, here's the official Chase prediction thread. Who's in and who's out at the end of the night on September 12th?

In the Chase:
Smoke
Gordon
Johnson
Skurt
Flipper
Newman
Hamlin
Biffle
Kenseth
The Old Man
Kasey Kagne
Juan Pablo

Outside looking in:
Shrub
Reutimann
Burton
Bowyer

No chance:
Junyer
Harvick
Truex
Mears
Ambrose
Sliced Bread
McMurray

Kyle's inconsistency reminds me of Stewart when he was on the outside looking in. Quite honestly, I think Kyle wants to win races more than he wants the championship.

I think his wanting to win everything he is what hurts him most. Instead of relaxing a bit on Sunday he was too aggressive and it hurt him in the chase standings. On the other hand you see a guy like Montoya and his crew chief talking about how they are going to try to just get a top finish to help them in the chase and if they get a chance to win the race they will. Situations like this are my only real problem with the chase system.

I did see an interview with Kyle earlier this year that he wants to become the first one to win a championship in all 3 series in the same year.

My predictions are actually exactly how the standings are now. Other than Kahne or Reutimann I don't really think anyone else is going to get in.

I like your predictions, Andy. Except I think The Franchise will make it in the Chase instead of Kasey.

Here's hoping that Smoke can prove that an owner/driver can still win the Cup.

It's going to come down to Busch, Burton, Kahne, Martin, Reutimann, Montoya for the last 3 spots.

Andy. Marks not that old. Why not call him by name and not a disrespectful name. I'm sure if you meet him you would not be like "hey old man can I get an autograph"

I got
1.Smokey
2.Jeff
3.Kurt
4.Jimmie
5.Denny
6.Rowdy
7.Rocket
8.Cousin
9.Biff
10.Vanilla
11.Kasey
12.John Paul
I am sorry but the selfish old man is out,you bring up Kyles inconsistencies what about Marks, hes even worst and their are tracks left that benefit Juan and Kasey more then Mark.

Especially since Mark could kick Andy's ass.

;)

Mark's been more consistent lately though -- he had a rough start for sure.

Tracks like Indianapolis and Pocono seem to be Kyle's undoing.

One thing's for sure, Richmond is going to be really interesting!

Kyle is not a fan of the flat tracks, but Denny does well on them. Kyle needs to go to his teammate and get some advice, but I still think Kyle wins 2 to 3 more races hes my pick for Daytona on the 4th,

The #83 is still within striking distance. Who knows where he would of finished Sunday if Kyle Busch hadnt wrecked him.

If the 9 team doesn't have problems with new Dodge engine I see them making the Chase finishing 10th with Pablo 12th. I don't think Martin will make the Chase. Kasey does good at Indy, but Daytona will be the key for him, he has to stay out of trouble and get a top 15 finish.

Yeah I don't see Mark making it either,he basically stole two wins which is the only reason hes even in the top 12 now,If anyone but Jimmie was behind him at Darlington he would of been wrecked and then Jimmie handed him yet another win at Michigan. I am sorry I have never been a Mark fan too much of a whiner always has been always will be.

I think it is still too early to call the chase. If I had to venture out on a limb I would say the top three are fairly safe and allowed a few gambles. Those gambles could bite them. Spots 7-12 are still up for grabs. Jr Is out.

If it werent for his bad luck he would be in contention for the chase. He can still make it ...and I hope he does.
