Some newer board members weren't able to take advantage of playing Spike's season long race game so I was trying to think of a game in addition to his that anyone could play for the Chase races this year. I know week one of the Chase has come and gone but this is one that we can finish out the next nine weeks with.

It works as follows.....

You'll pick two Chase drivers each week.

Pick the Chase driver that you think will finish the best for the given week.

Pick the Chase driver that you think will finish the worst for the given week.

The highest score at the end of the Chase is the winner.

Scoring is based on NASCAR's point system.

Your pick for the best driver will simply receive the points awarded by NASCAR.

Your pick for the worst driver will receive the difference in points between the winner of the race and your picks actual race points.

For example..... Last week, if you had picked Jimmie Johnson as your best and Dale Jr. as the worst you would have scored.....

Jimmie Johnson 35 points.
Dale Jr. 6 points.

41 points total for the week.

I'll create a thread @ the beginning of each week through the end of the Chase. You can pick whichever Chase driver you want each week. If you want Jimmie Johnson as your top pick that's fine. You will just have to remember to pick him each week. I'm not going to try to remember for you. Picks must be made before the scheduled start of the race. I know it is late in the week but I'm going to try to start this today. Post any questions that you have and I'll try to answer them. If you all would like to play but think we should wait until the 3rd week to give everyone time to pick, let me know. If you think my idea for a Chase game sucks, let me know or let this thread die. I'll post the results ASAP after each race.

My picks for this week.....

Best: Kurt Busch
Worst: Dale Earnhardt Jr.

I like it! Maybe this week can be like a pre-season game?

Best: Kyle Busch
Worst: Denny Hamlin

The voting is currently tied 1 to 1......Don't forget to Vote:D

Best - Newman
Worst - Keselowski

I'm a Kez fan, but that boy pops an awful lot of right fronts. Someone should put a sharp pebble in his left shoe before the race so he remembers to ease it into the turns.

Nice simple rule DP. Well done.

Guess I should have waited till after qualifying to make my picks...

Keep that in mind next week. Where they start sure as heck doesn't dictate where they finish. I get burned on that all the time in one of the other games that I play.

So far.....

Thanks to all that joined in on this game. I'll post the results tomorrow morning and open it up for next weeks picks then. If anyone else would like to join in and make picks, I'll take them up to the scheduled start time of ESPN's broadcast @ 2:00pm ET.

I would like to reverse my picks. I misunderstood the rules. I thought lowest points win. Honest. :D

*snicker, snicker*

I got the worst finisher right :beerbang: but I missed on the best finisher

My best pick finished 25th. My worst finished 2nd, but I'm happy about that. I may keep picking Kez for last.

How about that Kyle Busch? Maybe Kurt promised to sponsor a second truck for Kyle if he forgot about the championship and messed with JJ.

NHMS Results

Congrats to Clutch for taking the early lead with a total of 68pts for the week. Nobody picked the best but three of you got the worst right this week. If any of you are having problems seeing the results displayed below, let me know and I'll post them in a text format rather than an image.
