Autoextremist.com has learned that GM Racing has officially entered into a partnership with Cosworth Racing to run an existing Cosworth-developed Indy Racing League V8 engine that will be badged as a Chevrolet. The agreement will be positioned as an engineering partnership between GM and Cosworth Racing, with the two companies collaborating on the project as an opportunity to increase their knowledge base for future and broader technical applications. The agreement will also make the GM nameplate instantly competitive again in the series, after GM had been hopelessly outclassed by Toyota and Honda in the first part of the IRL season
