mwr releases martin ta #14.....ta give vickers time w/ #55 crew.
then shr steals vickers cc.......childers.
bet mwr exec's are hot . ha!
 
I think I read somewhere that MWR knew Childers was leaving. So how long before MWR let's Childers walk so Brian can work with his future CC?
 
As a huge Vickers fan... I AM BUMMED!

This is weird, because it was reported that Childers and Vickers were really good friends. I think Childers was one of the reasons Vickers got the part time 55 ride at first. I am wondering how much SHR is paying Childers for him to leave a already good thing.

Well yeah . Oh course it's about money , what else could it be about ? These guys have families to support and making money is what keeps them fed . He can still have a beer with Vickers . Hell he can buy him a beer .:)

This is another big move by SHR, in my estimation the very underrated Childers is one of the top CC's in the garage. SHR is really putting some nice pieces together for next year.

I wonder how much this will affect the performance of the 55 team going forward? Who is available to bring in, or do they have the people to promote from within. Either way, I see this as a major blow to the 55 team and a huge coup for SHR.

No I see what you are saying. I just wondering how much more SHR is willing to pay Childers that MWR won't.

I wonder if its also just a new opportunity and a new challenge...Ask yourself this, if you're a CC looking to take a run at the 2014 championship and you had a choice between Harvick or Vickers, who's your guy?
I know that I'd go with Harvick and it's a no doubter in my mind.

I agree with that, in fact if they had a better stable of drivers I think it would really be evident. clint bowyer while a race winner was never much of a consistent multi season winner in the past.

I am a Harvick fan and right now I think it is up in the air. While Harvick wins every time when you consider talent, but is SHR a better organization than MWR? Yes SHR get equipment from HMS, but MWR also has Toyota in their back pocket. I'd say MWR is as much a flagship program for Toyota as JGR is. The 55 is a proven team, with a proven driver that can run up front in the 55. While Harvick is a proven driver, more so than Vickers, is the 4 a proven team? How long will it take to be proven? Will it be proven right out of the box? Don't get me wrong being a Harvick fan I am happy.
 
Hopefully Vickers gets an equally good crew chief. But I am happy for Harvick too.
 
Don't count Berrier out of the mix either. He's been putting a good car under Ku. Busch all season long @FRR...They might come as a pkg deal together at a new team...Or....Maybe they will both stay there if the deal FRR offers is the best for both.....

I agree , and money aside , Harvick would be a lot more fun to work with . The other consideration is which owner would he rather work with? Mikey is a bit of a jerk , while Tony is ,well Tony. Seems he's a bit of a magnet right now . Everyone wants to work with him.
