A 20-year-old man was shot dead in Fort Worth on Tuesday afternoon after he tried to rob another man during a Craigslist deal, police said.
Police responded to a shooting call around 1 p.m. on Tuesday and found Desmond Paige, 20, dead from multiple gunshot wounds outside a Metro PCS store in the 7400 block of Wichita Street.
The other man, who had a conceal-carry gun permit, also had a non-life threatening gunshot wound. He was taken to John Peter Smith Hospital. Police said it’s unclear whether Paige shot the man, or if he shot himself.
The two men had met to make a deal for a cell phone one of them had advertised on Craigslist, police said.
Several weeks ago, Dallas police reported a similar robbery incident in Lake Highlands when a man was pistol-whipped and robbed while trying to buy an iPhone he saw on Craigslist from another man.
