Once again I will be vacationing in Maine. Part of the vacation will be spent in Bar Harbor, Maine where I will be staying for 4 nights. My package includes 2 complete dinners at the Bar Harbor Inn and will include:
Appetizer, soup or salad, Entree, and dessert (dessert is not shown on the menu)

Select 2 complete dinners that you would choose from the menu.

Okay. My choice for Meal #1 is...........Baked Stuffed Portabello Mushrooms, Caesar Salad and Grilled Atlantic Salmon. My choice for Meal #2 is.........Gulf Shrimp ****tail, Creamy Lobster Bisque, Chargrilled Swordfish. Wish I knew what your choices were for desert. :D

OMG MUGGLE, I'm SOOO jealous! I've lived in Maine (1,000 years ago) and in New England until 11 years ago. I so miss tthe seafood!

Meal #1 Shrimp Coctail
Clam Chowder
Garden Greens
Boiled Lobster (I'll take a bigger one if offered)

Meal #2 Lobster Timbale
Lobster Bisque
Gorgonzola & Pecan Baby Spinach
Lobster Meat

A shared bunch of Maine Steamers would be nummy too, iv available. When in Maine, why eat beef when the native clams and lobsters are probaby delivered fresh from the boat.

If I had room for desert, it would be Rhubarb Pie or Cheesecake. (If available)

kat220, your selection is pretty close to mine. my probable selection will be:

meal #1

Crab Cakes or the Gulf Shrimp ****tail
Lobster Bisque
Gorgonzola Mesclun Garden Greens
Boiled Lobster
Blueberry Pie w/ vanilla ice cream (made with the wild Maine blueberries)

meal #2

Lobster Mango Timbale
New England Clam Chowder (it is soooo good)
Gorgonzola Mesclun Garden Greens
Fresh Lobster Meat
Blueberry Pie w/ vanilla ice cream

And since I will have 2 more meals in Bar Harbor I may have a 3rd meal at the Inn. :)

I have a thing about blueberries, no thanks.

Meal # 3 for me would probably be Crab Cakes, more NE Clam Chowder, More Salad Greens, and Lobster Pie or Scallops.
Cherry pie or cherry cheesecake.

Sounds pretty good. perhaps I should also go back for a 4th meal. :)
Except there are a couple more very good restaurants that I would like to enjoy. Wish I had more time and money. :)

We are off tomorrow morning for the long drive to Bar Harbor. Hope the gas is available. :)

Eat some great NE Seafood for ME, and don't forget the pictures! Be safe Muggle!

I am back. :)
Lobster and clam chowder was excellent as well as the wonderful Bar harbor weather, temps in the high 70's and no humidity. We had a great time and even toured a little brewery in Bar Harbor http://www.atlanticbrewing.com/.
We brought back some of the Blueberry Ale and the Real Ale.

After leaving Bar Harbor we drove up into Canada and came home via the 1000 Islands Bridge and then down I-81. HeHe, I brought 11 cases of the good Canadian non-alcoholic beer back with me.

TexasRaceLady, how did your trip go and how was the Richmond race.

I am soooo jealous! AND happy that you had a great time. Steamers? Mussels? Clambake? Visit Acadia? Whalewatch? Had the colors started changing at all while in Canada? What other resteraunts did you patronize?
DETAILS PLEASE and pics if at all possible. :beerbang: :D :beerbang:

The trees had not started changing colors yet. We spent a good part of a day in Acadia although we have been there several times before. Took a bunch of photos from on top of Cadillac Mtn. and also down on the rocks along the bay. It is such a beautiful place. We also went for a 2 hr sail on the 4 masted Schooner in the bay. One day we sat for an hour or so and just watched the boats and people at the bay downtown.

We had dinner 2 nights at bar Harbor Inn and also had dinners at Galyns and Por Boys. Had lobster with linguine at Por Boys. Actually, had lobster all 4 dinners along with either lobster bisque or clam chowder. Drove to Northeast harbor one day for lunch, had a great haddock sandwich.
