CHRISTMAS POEM

This was posted on another board, I thought it was interesting and wanted to share it with yall.

It was the day before Daytona,
And all throughout the track;
The Ward fans were still searching,
For the missing Santa sack.
As Santa had misplaced it,
To NASCAR Officials he did confide,
Unfortunately inside it,
Contained Ward Burton’s new ride.

With decals and paint schemes,
And sponsors galore
The Ward fans were waiting
To see the number on the door.
It wouldn’t be 0
And surely not the 22
No snackie cake teammates,
No half @$$ crew.

His fans sat and waited
Throughout 2005,
Would he retire
Or would he drive?
What gear would they buy,
What team could it be?
They never heard a word
Just rumors on Jayski.

Hall of Fame Racing, Gibbs,
Yates and BDR
Were part of the rumors-
That traveled afar.
The fans were upset
When this all became untrue,
Where’s our Ward
And what is he going to do?

When out on the board
There arose such a clatter
Ward had logged on
To see what was the matter.
He realized his fans were pissed
And stressed out.
“Santa, find my ride
they can no longer do without!”
So Santa appeared with
His reindeer in tow.
He yelled at his reindeer,
“Green, green, green, let’s go!”
Santa and his crew searched
the shops and tracks thru.
No sign of his sack,
No ride or crew.

Daytona 2006, and the green flag
Will fall.
Will Ward be racing,
Will we see him at all?
Another year without him
Has become our biggest fear,
But any news of a decision will
Immediately be posted here.

Thank You!!!! I do really do miss Ward a lot!!!!!
And I talk with lots of others that feel the same.
Wish Ward would come back.

I read some where, can't remember where, that he was concentrating on his wildlife conservation society and not going to race again. Not sure if this true, but i haven't heard his name mentioned in any of the rumor mills.

Awesome poem.

I really wish 'Wad' would get back in it. It'd be cool to have him back out there.

I doubt Ward will be back, and that's sad. He is doing wonderful work with his Wildlife and Conservation efforts, and I, for one, applaud his efforts.
