wow, already you have to go back.........but a few more weeks, you can go home again......:D

Seems like we just got all the Christmas decs back in the attic a short time ago. (probably was). Here in the north, it is danged cold to put the outside lights up. Just got all of our 10, 946, 001 leaves raked up yesterday:p I guess a couple of weeks yet till I go out and freeze my behind off to find a tree. Did anyone ever think of putting Christmas in the summertime????????

got the tree somewhat decorated today..........De put the beady things on..i am putting the decos on now..........taking me all day to do mind you...........
what a mess...........xmas stuff everywhere..............
man, now to do the cards.........oh brother...........what a pain...........and 23 more days yet............to go.........
yuck...........:( :( :(

Me and the Mrs. put our tree up today. It's one of those prefab thingys with the lights already strung. I suppose we will let it sit there a few days before we put anything else on it. Maybe we can get the daughter to help. She usually does help, if she's ever here. She's got this fiance she spends a lot of time with. Jeez, I don't know why!:)

I'm on vacation this week so I should be able to decorate a whole lot more than usual. It really sucks that we have to use the artificial tree this year. I hate artificial trees with a passion. It just doesn't seem like Christmas when the house doesn't smell like pine when you walk in. But, I don't want to chase the kittens out of the real tree all day long for the next month either.:satisfied

i have a week of classes then exams then i go home

your tree sounds really pretty............uh oh 3 large presents huh? you haven't peeked have you? or shook them?
hahahhaha:D

Well here it is............Cutie decorated it. The picture doesn't show the fiber optic lighting very well...........it is pretty!:)

I had to reboot to Win ME to put the picture up.........haven't figured out how to get pictures with Mandrake Linux yet.:(

Well I helped wrap the presents I know what they are. Its 3 $120 computer chairs for $50 each after the sale and rebate. 2 of the chairs for here so my brother can get his back and one for my grandma, she justy got a new computer and nowshe needs a better chair.

Okay, I have a Christmas tree dilema. We have a new kitten, five months old on the 4th of Dec, and he is a troublemaker. He climbs in my mom's plants and has actually jumped from the window onto the hanging plant nearby. He tears up papers and nothing can come or go in the house without him doing something to it. What does this have to do with Christmas trees you ask?

Well I am postive that he is going to try to climb the tree, which is fake, and pull it down. He may be small but is incredible good at destroying things. So I was reading somewhere that we could tether the tree to prevent it from being taken down. Has anyone tried this? Or have any suggestions for us? Don't really want to have to pick up the tree day after day. Scoop has a problem learning things.

Thanks.

mis-fit, looks like you are going to have a real problem with the kitten and a christmas tree. The only way you are going to have a tree is NOT to hang anything on it to entice the little feller to play with it. lol You should have a very interesting time with the kitten.:p

mis-fit get you a good squirt gun,or bottle.Give the little thing a squirt, should break him of it in about a week.:)

pbunch, I forgot all about doing that. I used to have to do that when I had cats. Haven't had cats in the house in several years, much less kittens, and that is exactly what we used to use to keep them off of the things they weren's supposed to climb on. And it did work.:)

now that we're back from florida and as long as i dont get offended again, lol, guess i'll take the kids out this weekend and get a tree:D

I'm debating whether or not to drag out the Christmas stuff and put it up.

It would be so much easier to leave it packed and ready to move than drag it out, put it up, and then have to pack it up, again. LOL

cutiepie, that's a good-looking tree. Love those fiber optic lights.

Cutie and DE, great looking tree. i love the old fashioned look with the beaded garland and all the ornaments. It looks just a picture from our local museum.

Mis-fit, my grandma used to tie up her tree, she had a cat. What see did was always put the tree in a corner of the room. She would put an eye hook, small one, up high almost level with the top of the tree. The hooks go in the wood casing of the window or the upper crown molding or the wall. She would then take very heavy fishing line and run it through the eye hook, around the tree and back through the eye hook and tie it off, Sort of like you are stacking up a tent. When she was done, the tree was held in place on both sides. This worked well, the cat never managed to get the tree to fall over. She did, however, loose some ornaments. Hope this helps.

oh come on, dragi it out and set it up...you will love it........it is so nice when you finally get it all set up............

yeah the fiber optics are great..no more hasseling with strings on lights on the tree,...only around the windows........
:D

Well, we finally got some of the lights up outside. Still have some to go, but most is up. Haven't even gotten in the mood to get the tree up yet. Have to rearrange furniture to have a tree in the living room......wish I could have a real tree, but too many allergies to have to deal with, so we have to have the artificial kind. Maybe with the weather being colder, I will be more in the christmas spirit by the weekend and get the tree up and the inside of the house decorated. I'll just have to wait and see......

We have a squirt gun pbunch, because he likes to climb on the counter and table. And the plants as previously mentioned. And he doesn't care if he gets wet. He actually likes water. He was almost in the bathtub last week taking a bath with my little nephews. And he got out in the snow last night. He loves water. The little stinker.

Thanks for the tip, nascarwoman. We will have to try that. And have a tree with no glass ornaments or dangly ones. Thanks for the advice everyone.

Our kitten is just getting to be more of a problem. One of those naughty little boys who never learns. lol.

BTW; Very beautiful tree, DE and Cutie.

Finished at last. The Mrs did the actual trimming while I readied the ornaments. She did a terrific job. Picture coming soon.:)
