Clash of the Titans

.......so I find this movie (80's version) on tonight and thought I'd sneak it in while my 8 yr old daughter is watching. Talk about a generation gap. I think every other scene she felt the need to tell me everything looked "fake". You've seen the movie. Anyone remember stop motion animation? Sure you do.

When I watched this movie as a kid, I was captivated. My daughter today, not so much. "Pegasus moves like a robot" and "ha,ha,ha, am I supposed to be scared by this?" were just a few of the comments I heard tonight. So I asked her, "What gives?". Her reply, "well, the Chipmunks (as in Alvin and the Chipmunks) move just like us, real people". Good grief.

(Note to self: cancel scheduled viewing of 1933 classic King Kong.)

Actually, I found Titans to be cheesy even back in 81. Star Wars set the bar for effects back then, and Titans didn't meet that bar.

One of these days, cheesy movies like this will be a premium. If you think Titans is hokey, find some old Flash Gordon videos and see what hokey is really like. But I love those old flix.
