Apparently there's been some talk between Jack Roush and Clint Bowyer going on. Maybe it's all just talk but Clint is in the last year of his contract with RCR. Jack Roush was on Claire B. Lang's, Sirius/XM, show last night and admitted he has had conversations with driver Clint Bowyer and that Bowyer "has been on my radar screen for a long, long time."

Some quotes from the interview.....

"We'd certainly welcome him to the Ford camp if he accepted (Richard Petty Motorsports') offer. That would certainly be, I think, in Ford's interest and I would be very happy about that," Roush said. "If he decided to take a look at one of our programs, and we had room for him, that would also be of interest.

"The way the sponsors are going to line up for next year and which cars they're going to be on and which opportunities you might have, is not clear. We're having discussions on many topics."

"He's a Midwest guy and he has good judgment on the race track. He's earned a lot of respect from his competitors as well as a lot of insiders like myself who have been watching him during his career."

Full story here.

So..... How long before Austin Dillon is in that ride? Big mistake IMO but maybe sooner than expected?

Dillon needs at least one full season of Nationwide experience before going into Cup.

As for Bowyer, that would mean Ragan would be the odd man out should Roush actually hire him instead of going to RPM. Roush may finally start using RPM the same way Hendrick uses SHR.

I think Ragan has wrecked and spun his way out of a ride. I think UPS would jump at Bowyer since he's the only big name available for the next few years. Kez's contract ends in 2012, but I doubt he even considers leaving Penske if they are running well.

The RPM camp has been running pretty well recently. Having Clint in one of the Roush-built FORDS would be a good thing, I think.

I wouldn't be too surprised if Childress let Bowyer walk and shelved the 33 for a while. Jeff Burton can't have too much of a future with RCR - based upon how poorly he has performed over the past couple years.

It won't be too long before RCR has both Austin and Ty Dillon in their CUP lineup to go along with Happy Harvick. Can you imagine a scenario where Harvick is the mentor to two young CUP drivers??
