Closest Combined Points Finish

Well. This one might be a little complicated to explain, but here goes...

The points differential between 1st place and 2nd place in 2003 was 90 points in the Cup series, 14 points in the Busch Series, and 9 points in the Truck series. That's a combined differential of 113 points.

And 113 points is the smallest combined difference since the truck series started (and therefore all 3 series existed) in 1995.

In fact in 7 of the nine years at least 1 series produced a differential of more 113 points all by itself.

The next closest total differential was 119 in 1996.

All this and they want to change it to a 10 race playoff to produce a closer championship race? Crazy up there at HQ. Heck, Johnson almost had Kenseth, no one really mentioned anything about that, but one other big slip up and Wisconsin wouldn't be celebratin' nothin'.

That 10 race play-off is so absurd IMHO,ccan't believe that Brian Frunze even conceived of such an idea :p

I'd like to see 10 more points(excludes bonus points)awarded to the race winner though ;)
