Comments on INCR last night

I was wondering what others think about the comments Waltrip made about Kenny Wallace driving the Aaron's car in the race Sunday.

I wouldn't have showed for the hot seat either if I had any idea he was going to say that I was just there to push the 8 and 15 up to the front and help them win.
 
Well, that was surprising. It's hard to tell wether he was really being serious.

The other thing I found funny (in a hypocritical kinda way) was when the subject of the finish came up, he made it clear he wanted to finish under green. Funny he wasn't calling for Nascar to finish up Daytona when it was stopped for rain....of course he was in the lead...

Well I don't put a lot of stock in what Mikey says anymore, he usually talks in circles trying to please all the powers that be. I think he was serious about his statment about Kenny, afterall, he does own the car.

I think there is a BIG difference between the race being called for hard long rain, and the way the race ended Sunday.

Now Kenny, LOL I love listening to him. He's funny and usually has pretty good answers.

Well, it's not that it was a rain out (although they easily could have finished the race on Monday just like this years Busch race at Daytona) it's that Mikey made no bones about wanting it to be called. I remember those interviews quite well because I found it so annoying.

I do agree that Mike has become more of a mouthpiece for Nascar than anything these days.
 
I cant stand Mikey.

I guess the "if you dont have anything nice to say dont say anything at all" line could be used here... so I'll keep quiet.

Kenny S. makes that show worth watching....I can't stand it when Mikey opens his mouth....well that shows I can't stand most of the show as he never shuts up!! :lol:

I really use to like him but his head just blew up so fast and he is such a puppet for Nascar! I've heard for years some at a certain board calling Jeff Nascar's puppet....never was he anything like this big mouth Mikey and so obvious when he does play up to them.
Strange, cause I do like DW and I know he has a mouth on him too but little brother drives me up the wall! :rolleyes:
 
Jeff certainly has a lot of weight behind his words in Nascar, but he's not always singing their praises. In fact most of his comments of late (last year or so) have been pretty critical and point out changes that should/need to be made.

Mikey has turned into the go-to guy for positive PR. But I can't say I blame him...he's getting a lot more coverage and tv time (and therefore $$) than most guys in the 30's in points...

17, jr is not my fav. but why do you hate him so much ?
I was a hardcore DE fan, didn't like anyone but him, but after his passing i have learned that hateing any driver is not a good thing, sure there are drivers i dislike and i will rag on them when the time is right but i try not to be obsessive over them,

I have to agree. He is not only Nascar yes man. He is also Dale Jr's stooge.
 
Only question I have is why is Jr a major part of this discussion? He wasn't even there. :blink:

I don't mind a little thread drift once in a while........but, when it's of a hateful nature it really gets to me. Can't y'all have a discussion (even a passionate discussion) without having to constantly tell everyone just how much you hate a driver? It's bashing............it's something that is supposed to forbidden on this board. I'm fairly sure I know who likes who here...........I really don't need to hear week in and week out just how much you really and truly hate that particular driver. But, then maybe it's just me. I can't name a driver, past or present, that I can say I hated.......some I haven't (and never have) rooted for, but not hated. The day I find myself hating a driver is the day I leave this sport......that's day it ceases to be fun.

And to Maj and Bow...........it was slamming a particular driver. No names were necessary.......it was very clear who they were talking about.

Excuse me, but I haven't even posted in this thread, DE. If you have a problem with a particular thread, you need to hit the REPORT POST button. That will send an email to the mods. It will also allow you to type in WHY you believe it needs to be reported. We can then handle it.
 
My apologies to you and Bow.............I had read two very similar threads in a row. You're right......it was another thread. And I will do the report this thread in the future. I'm saying this in the open because I said what I said in my last post in the open. But, my feelings on this constant "gentle bashing" still stands.......it happens a lot.

Who said I hate Jr? I like Jr. I'm just sick of the way most of his fans and most of the media annointed him the next Jeff Gordon, DE Sr. & Richard Petty just because his last name is Earnhardt. I'm sick of Fox...it's Dale Jr. this, Mikey that. I don't even watch Inside Nextel Cup anymore because of Mikey.

Well DE_W I will apologize to you if I've offended you. When I reread my comments I see it is Bashing, even if it is done in a light hearted mannor. Really my intent was just having fun and not slamming anyone. :cheers: :cheers:

People say how they dislike Jr being mentioned all the time, yet it is these same people that always find a way to bring him into the fold no matter what the thread is.


Take this thread. Jr had nothing to do with the show yet he becomes the focal point of the thread.
 
I don't belive I said anything that could be considered as a hate comment about Mikey. I said he was a yes man to Nascar and a stooge to Jr. and he is. I don't pull for Mikey never have but don't hate him. I dont pull for a lot of drivers but don't hate them. They have never done anything to me so why should I hate them. :cheers:

And the people who complain about the complainers made Jr. the focal point of this thread. My 1st comment consisted only of what I felt was Mikey's job at DEI...and IMO he's doing a great job! It's not my fault that people think I hate Jr. & am trying to blast him with every post I make, even though that's not true by a long shot. And people complained that Kenseth fans are over sensitive....yikes!
