Am so damn sick of NBC !!!! I don't like Bill Weber so I say NBC is worse than FOX, not by much though. I am fed up with commercials during a race. NBC seems to ALWAYS miss the green flag or a caution, NBC comes out of a commercial break and the cars are under caution. NBC goes to a commercial break, comes back and they are under green. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR !!!!
Doesn't ABC show a half screen, so you don't miss a thing, during IRL races???
That's the way to go. AND those damn green flag racing pitstops have got to stop, I don't really care about the pitstop under green flag conditions!!!! ARRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHHHH !!!!! I AM SEEING LESS AND LESS OF A RACE ALL THE TIME...I AM FED UP !!!!!!!!!!!!

They show what happens 5 times to bring out that caution anyways so that really doesn't matter to me. The hit the green about 2 seconds late. Usually, I don't mind. The companys pay for the commercial spots so they have to squeeze them in. I would rather put up with that than DW.

Late is late....I want to see the restart ! Do the commercials under caution instead of watching caution pitstops. Yes, they do pay the bills..but that should't mean I see more commercials than racing. DW is a whole other gripe I have !!

While watching the races since NBC took over (as per contractual agreement) I have been very frustrated as well. Last night, it seemed as though almost every caution and restart took place during a commercial. I also was frustrated that when they did return, it was neccessary to list all the sponsors before showing a dang thing on the track.

NBC is balking at the requested amount to renew the contract, the network has shown many races on TNT instead of the mother station, and they appear to be far more interested in the NFL and other sports than in NASCAR.
Realisticly, the sponsors are footing the bill and NBC is still making a healthy profit.
What you or I think is of little value to the big guns as they are all about the bottom line. Don't forget, it's still a mega business and we don't get to vote.

I enjoyed the old time TV coverage much more than today's. There were fewer cameras and the screen showed a wider shot of the cars. I could see maybe 1/2 mile of cars on the stretches and turns at almost all times. I could pick out my car and watch it's progress for almost the entire race.
Nowadays I have to look out the back window of a car or out the front from underneath at the back bumper of whatever car is there...for maybe 20% of the race.
Who the hell wants to look at ONE back bumper while 43 cars are running wide open around the track?
As for DW.. Love the unschooled jabber of that man. He says what he means and no doubt about it. None of that politically correct bull**** from him!!! He talks like a good friend or neighbor, not like a schooled, blather talking, paid announcer.

P. S. Boogity is far more entertaining and at least he can pronounce "McMurry".

JMO, and your two cents count too!

THIS IS A DEMOCRACY...I WANT TO VOTE....LMAO..Nascar will never allow that amymore than they will give their "family" insurance. The big guns may not care what I think or say...but persistance may "eventually" pay off..we the fans just may be treated to better television coverage with good, knowledable guys in the booth.....sigh....what a dream !!! :)

DW used to be as you described...the "booth" has changed him..
I agree with you old time TV coverage was the best.....
Yep, and who wants to watch a hot rotor for 5 laps....

 My two cents count !!!!????? Quick call Nascar, they didn't get that memo...... lol
And I can't stand...boogity boogity boogity.... :(

IMO "through the field" is done too often. They don't have to actually show the 13th place car running all by himself while telling us what adjustments were made in his last pitstop.

Agreed and the "if the race were to end right now" stuff is a waste of time.

Speaking of TV coverage. Just because it is possible to do a thing does not make it reasonable to do that thing.
An example of this is the damn camera that appears to be in a hole in the race track. We get a good look at the TIRES that are running over the hole!
Now what the hell is that all about. I have 4 tires on my car. I well know what a tire looks like. Why would I go out and stare at one of them for minutes at a time?
I want to see the progress of the race cars... Not one damn tire on each car.
Betsy

Well you only have to listen to Boogity Boogity Boogity once a race... I still don't get why most people don't like DW, I have no problem with him, Wally Dallenbach he annoys me the most of all of them....

Man who runs in front of car gets tired. Man who runs behind car gets exhausted.

I like Wally and McReynolds. DW, well I just turn it to Lifetime.

Somehow these guys got it in their head..the more info the fans have the more knowledge they will pocess.....hmmmmmm....but if you don't get to see a complete race what have you learned..?? And just how much you going to learn when you're annoyed anyway......just to much junk going on...they need to "keep it simple"..

McReynolds, Mikey and Jeff Burton in the booth....works for me

Okay, so we all know that we don't like the coverage of today's races. But, how many remember how ABC used to show more coverage of the wife of the leader than the race? Anyone remember Michael Andretti's wife? :)

That's the type of coverage that I can't stand. They want to be artistic in their coverage and try to show the emotion of those close to the action. I couldn't care less about the wife/girlfriend/mother or father of the guy who get's to the finish line first until after the fact. Then you can show us how giddy these people are. I do think though that today, the coverage is better in those regards, but the artistic crap has now change to those various camera angles.

As an old timer fan of this sport, I've witnessed many different changes through the years. I used to be tickled to death just to be able to get MRN on the radio so I could at least know what is happening on the track live. Now days, one can if one so desires, get a total overload of NASCAR, or anything else if you want. I'm fortunate enough that I've got Road Runner as my ISP and as such, I get Track Pass free and so I can keep track of my fav all the time. Yeah, it's not like watching the race on TV, but it's better than trying to wait for "going through the field" or the ticker tape at the top.

Kim Burton comes to mind.  I remember everytime the camera was on here, she would be crying.

Speaking of women, they were showing the ladies of the drivers as the drivers were getting in the cars, I do have to day they were all hot, and then they showed Jeff Gordons. Damn he can do better than that. I did not find her attractive at all. :D

Maybe he can't do better than that..and frankly I don't care. I am a "race" fan and not interested in who they came with or who they leave with.

Ah, a little eye candy doesn't hurt anybody ... even "race" fans. ;)

Can someone answer this for me? Does the Speed channel show the races each week along with what ever else channel is hosting the race?(Live) Also is it me just missing it but when ever two drivers start getting aggressive toward one another on the track they never show it. Just talk about it and can’t see ourselves who’s the blame? Example the 5 lap back flags Saturday night between a few drivers. Sure they told us what happened to a point but never showed it!?!?! I hate that!!
