The 2nd Annual Commonwealth 100 was held April 15th and 17th at Virginia Motor Speedway. Initially set as a two day show for Friday and Saturday, major storms postponed the feature races until Sunday afternoon. 42 cars were on hand for a shot at $25,000 to win and $2,000 to start, along with a $3,000 to win non qualifiers race known as the "Rumble on the River 30." The staff at VMS pulled off an amazing job of getting this marquee event pulled off in great fashion, even faced with the dreaded "R" word.
