computer generated Homestead Speedway

For the first time, a computer completely determined the design of a racetrack. Three simulated cars were put at the start/finish line. With each staying in its own groove, the computer came up with a design that would allow each car to travel the oval and arrive back at the start/finish line at the exact same time.

I didn't know they computer generated the layout of the track and the degree of banking, I thought that was pretty cool. Now we'll see if it works. :D

Bowtie, they said the other night on the Toyota All_starr program that the track was designed from that one, (or atleast the basic idea.) and if that's true I think that will be really cool. That was some of the best racing, 3 and 4 wide all around the track. 3 wide lap after lap. Sure sounds good to me.

Read the reports fron the truck guys that tested there today.

Irwindale Speedway is a progressivley banked flat track.
Homestead is a progressively banked medium banked track.

They may have gotten the idea from Irwindale, but it certainly going to be different.

It is amasing what you can do with computers besides post on racing-forums.

Bristol and Dover used to be like that before concrete too...Is it Winchester or IRP that does that too?
