Computer Question

I am having major computer problems! I have decided that it is probably time to get a new one. Wanted to see which you all prefer Gateway or Dell. And b/c I am computer stupid, what are somethings I should make sure that it has. When I had this one built I just told the place to give me what I needed to get online and do some basic office stuff. Any suggestions? Thanks
 
I have a compaq, I hate gateway, I would get a dell :) -- so I guess go for the dell with around a 1.8 oe higer prosseser
 
Hate compaq, not familiar with Gateway, use Dell. It really all depends on what you will be using your computer for as to the specifics that you need.
 
I got a Dell and I like it, but I don't think there is any huge Differance between the two except if you have a preferance of processors, Dell has Intel and Gateway I think is Athelon.
 
I used to have an IBM desktop and currently have an IBM ThinkPad. What's nice is they both came with a "system restore" CD which brought the system back to original specs if you needed to reboot the hard drive or had other problems. I never had any problems with either one.

Last December, I bought a Dell Demension 8250 P4 2.4GHz. So far, good.

What I don't like about the Dell is that if you need to use the CD's to restore, a newbie or one who is not so good at this type of thing might get confused. Perhaps IBM spoiled me but I have done the procedure without any problems.
 
I love my dell.haven't had any problems with it yet.Knock on wood.ha,ha. :D

I've had a Compaq desktop with Win95/98 for several years now and have had various problems with it. I have never been that overly impressed with it.

Recently bought a Dell laptop with Win XP and so far, so good.

I've had my Gateway since 1998. Have had no problems, other than viruses, which were my fault.

Whatever one you get, get the largest monitor you can afford. Sure is nice.
I love my 21 inch screen. Don't need my reading glasses.
 
Damn TRL and you run 800x600 on that monitor? You could sit on the couch in your living room! :lol:

It is gambit from marvial vs capcom vidio game for playstation :p (gambit and wolvirean was always my favs, thats y I am mad he was not in the movie)
