Okay, we know about a lot of our computers that we use on this forum. I have a question about just what do you use your personal computer for. I mean, does anyone (aside from Paul who I'm sure uses his to maintain this fine Racin Forum!!:) ), use their computer for anything other than email, chat, posting on boards, or playing games? I know I don't......if I did, I'd probably be much more careful about tinkering with the darn thing (two complete formats and reinstallations in less than 4 months!!):)
 
I use my computer at work for various things. Mainly application development through Visual Studio and different types of spreadsheet programs. My PC at the house is pretty much used for the things you mentioned above. I'm not one to carry my work with me to the house.:)
 
I tried to use mine as an Easy Bake Oven, but it didn't work too good.
 
Just a TV dinner. My regular TV cooks them fine, but the computer monitor wasn't compatible with that version and gave me a javascript error or something.
 
I've successfully prepared a spectacular Beef Wellington and Yorkshire Pudding with the assistance of my Athlon XP. :)
 
Humm.....I guess I didn't know the capabilities of my own personal computer. I wonder how it'll do with that roast I've grown to love.:chef: And I think Ward-Fan is on to something, I'm going to have to be careful as to what version roast I buy or the OS will never even acknowledge it.:crashcomp
 
Other than a few things I know how to do on the internet, I have absolutely no computer skills whatsoever( is that one word). But I did prepare a stunning chocolate mousse with it last night.
 
All I can tell you is, never ever try to use your computer to make popcorn. Unless you have an Apple. Those unpopped kernals pop up at the most inopportune moments.
 
Although I use Apple computers exclusively, I have never been able to bake anything or make popcorn.

Along with all the regular stuff, email, spreadsheets, internet, etc. I use Photoshop and a scanner to create digital images from slides and negatives for prints to sell. I build and maintain web sites, and make movies from a digital camcorder using Apples iMovie software. I also record CD's from old records and convert them to mp3 files.

I even use a desktop Power Mac to watch television at my office by running the boss's cable service through a VCR and then into the AV ports on my tower. It really impresses all my Windoze using associates.

Now if I can figure out what it was I used to do with my time.......

use mine for emailing..........
instant messageing my girls...........
have done lots of research and been successful.....

when I am stumped or someone has a question..I look it up for them and usually find what I am looking for..
computer is a great tool if you don't abuse it........

Los Angeles just added a lookup for pedaphiles in your area..I looked it up and saw we have 3 within a 1 mile range...good to know......well not good to know, but keeps your guard up......

I use to help a friend run a major site, but then it just started getting to tiresom just me and him on this huge non profit site. I do a little programing sometimes working on learning C++ for fun.I get music off with my computer and if I had a faster conection I would get movies with my computer.I also like to research things all the time. I have 2 computers one for the whole family, the other mine to play with. It has linux slackware on it, I use to practice with nix oses, because I hope to get a job with a major isp one day.



Do any of you watch techtv???
 
I will have to say that when the tv is not on speed or espn, its on tech tv. They got some neat programs on there :) I do a lot a programming in c++ (I have tried .net version but I still like 6.0, it's what I am used to) for my classes, I am becomming pretty avid at this stuff smack, so if u need any help give me a holla. Downloading music is a daily experience, though I still buy the good cd's. I don't do much gaming because there is a real world out there and there is plenty to do:)
 
I use mine for college work, writing papers, doing research and of course, the internet.
 
:crashcomp :hyper: That is about it I use mine for posting on boards., e-mail and buying things on ebay.:D
