I had an idea for a thread called Confession Corner

We could use it to post things about ourselves that some people may not think too highly of. Guilty pleasures would fall nicely into the thread. I don't want it to be used as fodder for the insult comics among us, unless it is just a silly thing like my first one is. You can feel free to rib me about that any time.

Keeping small things to yourself is understandable but not always healthy. Admitting them to people you will likely never meet in person can be therapeutic.

I'll start by admitting that...

I really like Avril Lavigne

I know she is not at all the type of music I usually listen to and, in fact I generally really dislike the pop music out lately. I saw her on tv somewhere and thought she was really hot and had a really sexy voice. I still didn't listen to it because it wasn't my type of music. I was giving guitar lessons for a while, a few years ago, and one of my students, a 7 year old girl of all things, brought in some Avril Lavigne for me to show her how to play it. To my shame, I really liked it a lot. I don't listen to it 24/7 or anything, but it is a guilty pleasure and it feels good to finally get it off my chest. Thanks for listening. ;)

Well I really like Yves Lavigne. I think he's a much better referree than Herb "Let's Stop the Match Too Early and Really P!$$ Off the Fans" Dean.

You're right. I feel so much better... :D

I used to think I could only eat pepperoni pizza but I have discovered a taste for supreme now.

My guilty pleasure is EthelM chocolates --- in particular the dark chocolate covered caramel and the dark chocolate covered macadamia nuts. Last time I looked, it was about $60 for a 1lb box. *sigh*

I still will not any kind of pizza but pepperoni with extra cheese/light on the sauce. :D

My little secret, Kid Rock. :punkrocke

My other guilty pleasure is a so-called "white pizza" ---- no sauce at all. With a supreme, it means you can taste all the toppings -- they are not over-powered by the sauce.

I will admit that pizza places give me a funny look when I get one. :D

I sneak goobers now and then. Before the wife sees that there are less in the bag, I secretly purchase more to refill the bag. :(

I had you pegged for the type that sucks the M&M candy from around the peanut and then put the peanut back in the bag...

I actually laugh about Kyle Busch's antics. :XXROFL:

Okay, my music confession, I absolutely love Vanessa Carlton's music.

I heard a little bit of that song the other night and I thought it was a remake of Sweet Home Alabama. I tried finding the whole song on Rhapsody, but you have to buy the whole CD to hear it. I don't like anything I have heard from the guy in the past, so I have no intention of buying anything to hear the rest of it.

Allright, I just watched the "All Summer Long" video on youtube and it is a pretty good song. That is the first thing I have ever heard from him that didn't suck. It reminded me of Kenny Chesney's "I Go Back" quite a bit, which is also a pretty good song. Reminiscing is usually a good idea for a song, and fun to do every now and then. Nickelback's "Photographs" is another example of the same idea and also a good song as well.

Oh, I like the "Warewolves of London" music for the verses too.

I can recite almost all of the dialog in the movie A Bridge Too Far and really have to try hard not to do that while watching it with other people.

As far as food goes, I still don't like salad...at all

I feel the same way about the dialog for Ghost, Dirty Dancing and Fried Green Tomatoes. :D

Oh my, other people do this as well? My movie is "Where Eagles Dare". Love that movie and have seen it 6,394 times! :)

*sigh* Same here.:beerbang:

As a fellow WoO fan have you read Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West : a Novel By Gregory Maguire. It is a great companion piece to Baum. Even if it was just written in 1996. It explains why she is the way she is.

I have :) An interesting read, definitely an adult book, not for young children, but good background info.
