Denny Hamlin Appreciation Thread

100%....and the haters don't understand that they have been had.

Nope, Hamcrap has nothing on me. He can live however…doesn’t affect me one bit. I’m simply a racing fan, speaking to his crappy wrecking of drivers, his smug self defense when doing so, and how it all relates to his narcissistic personality disorder. Maybe he could become a spokesperson for that mental illness, but then he’d have to admit his obsessive compulsive focus on himself is a problem, and NPD’s can’t do that without serious therapy first.

NASCAR has been an enabler of his behavior for years (for some unknown reason). Evidence: his wild reactive antics toward Chastain at the first race at WWTR St. Louis. Swerving, slowing radically, targeting, multiple times. He put other drivers in danger and broke multiple rules, but did NASCAR do anything? Had he been seriously chapped it might have ultimately helped him. Or if some driver eventually punches his big mouth hard enough it might adjust some attitude (and teeth). But he keeps getting away with it, projecting himself as this wise sage of the sport…pontificating on all things from the royal Hambone throne. Puke 🤮.

Frankly he needs to get over himself, quit pulling s#*+ like KDB did, and just focus on racing well (and clean) towards earning a championship. Busch had to see his act wasn’t getting him anywhere with sponsors or helping him win. I think his search for a new team humbled him, and forced him to focus on the most important part of his life…his family. He’s still fussin and cussin, but he has a plan for his son and for his remaining racing career. It doesn’t require him to pout at the TV cameras and imitate crying fans…and that is refreshing for him, and for us.

But I don’t expect Hampig to follow suit. KDB’s stuff rose from his fiercely over competitive nature. He thought it helped fuel him, and maybe to some degree it did. Mr. “I Wanna be MJ” Denny is genuinely pathological. His podcast only reinforces his sense of grandeur while fueling that immense selfish ego within.

So yes, I enjoy his many mistakes that snatch defeat from victory, love it when he wrecks (and is not injured, don’t wish that on anyone), and when he loses. I despise how he races others and how smarmy he is doing it. If this is all one big act, and his self-worshipping home and activities are all to just “get those stupid racing fans who can’t appreciate greatness”, it’s a hell of a lot of faking to achieve such a pathetic accomplishment.

My deal is that I can't pretty much stand him as a human being. I don't care how many races he wins. I'm not one of those fans that believes everybody loves a winner. His contributions to the sport are all about him.

Spends more time talking about the stuff that matters weekly than any other driver I can think of. Ego and all. I'll take it. So, interesting on KB.....stops winning because he was humbled and became a family man. Got it. I understand now. Go Denny.

I know people who know him. He's a douche, 100% confirmed
The ole "friend of a friend" thing. Got it. Who gives a **** really? I am not rooting for Denny as a life coach. No different than Rowdy. Is he a changed man? No. Is his brand different? Yes. Many fans bite on that crap. Two in a row for Denny....let's get three and he is the greatest Toyota driver for me for another week. I don't give three ****s about who he is or what he does other than that as long as he isn't hurting anybody.

You apparently? Calm down or I will give you the Bobby Ford passive aggressive answer....it's OK to disagree...after I start the S*hit lol. .
I don't care how many Hambone wins, kinda glad he does. It sets up more fun come playoff time for me lol. Will the duffer duff one more?

He took Rowdy's brand, and ran with it. It is working. We are talking about him every week.

I’m the furthest thing from a Denny Hamlin fan, I don’t think he gets the credit for how great a racecar driver he is.

Reminds me of Darrell Waltrip. Conserves his stuff to attack in the key moments. Not afraid to trade paint when it’s go time. Great short track racer, great super speedway racer, great at Darlington, multiple Crown Jewels. And of course the mouth to boot lol.

A single championship puts him in the top 10 all time argument.

Glad I didn’t waste my evening watching. He was a dick even before he started trying to be one…..

You missed a very good race. There was a lot more to it than Hamlin winning.
Yeah I read the comments on the race thread. Appears DH came out of nowhere and that there was competition from all makes. But now that I know the sad outcome doubt I log in and watch. Lol

He didn't come out of nowhere, but ya kinda have to watch to understand what went down.

He kinda did. Hamlin won what turned out to be a fuel mileage type race. Hamlin lead a total of 5 laps in the race with 4 of them being the last laps in the final stage to win the race.

Denny sets up for traffic. He doesn't give a **** about leading until he needs to, and then drives around what he has. His podcast is pretty enlightening. Denny was a favorite going into the race. You can learn a lot by watching time sheets and listening to scanners during Practice. He didn't win by fuel mileage. He was faster than Byron. Regardless.....some--who are not biased as hell--would call his kind of drive Peason-like, but around here, many guppies bite on the "11 Against the World" bait, and can't get off of it....much to the happiness of Denny.

Never in the epic anals of Nascar history has a driver so spectacularly won a fuel mileage race.....after Hocevar blew a tire while leading and Byron ran out of gas. It's a first folks.
