Mark and team.

....and Jack Roush congratulating him in Victory Lane.. that was class, too.

Nice job Mark, I think that's the first time I saw an owner in VL that was not the owner of the car.

Gongrats to Mark! :beerbang:

I would have thought he would have been a much stronger racer when he had Viagra as a sponsor!!!! :D

Awesome photo!! CONGRATULATIONS MARK!!!! WAY TO GO!!!
agreed (but i didn't know pheonix had grass?). If only Rick had been there...to see him and this guy in VL together on good terms...that would have been landmark achievement.

In that pic of Mark's car, i can't help but notice the camber in the right front???

I am sooooooo glad I wasnt at home to see this. I'm sure the police woulda been called......lol. I woulda been yellin so loud those last 5 laps that the airport woulda called to complain about the noise. But anyway...... wooooooooooooooooooooooooooo hhooooooooooooooooooooooooooo MARK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well it is cool he won, but with all the crap that has been said and done over the last 4 years of his career, I can't help but feel like....so what. I used to like this guy, not anymore.....yes he does have class, very few guys in the sport do now, but the debacle at DEI, and of course Jacks' team, really changed the way I looked at this guy and his career. If he some how wins the Cup Championship this year, I guess a small part of me will be happy for him, but most of all I will make me feel bitter about all the retirement stuff. Can't get past that, even though I try, just my opion folks , that's all. I know there are a lot of Martin fans here, I 'm just not one of them.

Really sad to be bitter about someone elses life choices. MM is the man !!!!

I read this twice thinking my older brother was on this site. Then I saw the Mopar and realized it wasn't him. He has been a Ford man since he started walking. He used to hate it when my Chevy would eat his Ford alive. We dang near came to blows over this difference of opinion several times. To this day I still rib him about it...

He was the biggest Mark Martin fan of all time until the day Mark slid into a Chevy. My brother filed the divorce papers the next day and it was a very ugly divorce. :D

I just don't understand the Ford/Chevy thing. With me it's all about the driver. I would not care what Davey Allison, Terry Labonte, Mark Martin, or Matt Kenseth would be driving, I would be a loyal fan no matter what. Terry wasn't that competitive before he retired, but I would never jump ship.

I don't get Mopardh9 problem with Mark not retiring. Bill Elliott tried to get back in after be retired. The difference, Mark is still competitive.

Great Pic Kell ~~

Congrats Mark....is in Order...

Think i saw Richard Petty bumping his driver to get back in the Drivers Seat now

:D:D:D

I agree! This has just been a sibling rivalry between my brother and I that has lasted for fifty years. Hell! I stayed with Tony when he was (GULP) forced into a Trytogoa... :D

Yes it would make me very happy to see Richard out there again. LOL. I was disappointed because he didn't do the ledgends race at Bristol.

As for the Ford/Chevy thing. I am a Jeff Gordon fan and would pull for him no matter if he returned to Ford or went with Toyota. I am for the man. Besides my truck is a FORD. I love my Truck and it has been a GOODEN.

Yeh well Bill never did the whole retirement tour thing did he? Have all the souveniors lined up on the trailer for his farewell tour did he? Bill was quiet about it, Mark made a big deal about it then comes back how many times to race again? Like I said it is just my opinion....Martin had the beef with Jack, whatever that was, but if you have this big retirement tour all season, then come back out of retirement for 3 or 4 times(can't remember how many now) it gets tiresome and old after awhile. Sure he can still compete, he is a nice guy....blah blah blah, but the way he went about things was wrong. If you disagree fine, I'll get flamed about it, but I know I'm not the only race fan that feels this way. IMO Martin will never win a Championship he doesn't have what it takes when it comes down to crunch time, he will always go down in Nascar history as a Bridesmaid. And I could care less what kind of car Bill drove or Mark drove, it is all about the person not the damn make of the car. They are all the same anyway.

i'm one of those that agree with mopardh9. i was a big fan of mark's through his retirement year and hoped he would finally get the elusive championship his career deserved. it didn't happen that way though and i still thought very highly of him as a racer. then he came back, and came back, and comes back again.... it's like giving a big party for a deserving retiree only to find out he's back at the same desk, same postition the next week because he changed his mind. thanks for the great sendoff though. <g> bill has never come back full-time, nor terry, rusty and the other greats once they retired that i can recall. certainly not after making such a big deal of their last year as a going away appreciation year tour for the fans. i'm not bitter about him continuing racing if that's what he wants to do. i just can't get into pulling for him over those that haven't decided to give it up before. it's like mark's version of "groundhog day".
