Great Job by Jimmy Spencer tonight! Im sure your very proud of him DE, Abooja, Lap 3, and BC 24...I hope I didnt miss any of ya. Looks like extra Donuts Tonight!

Anyone still doubting my pick of a top five for good ole Jimmy?:)
He started 10th tonight........finished 1st.:)
Tomorrow he starts 11th.....but has twice the laps to race:D

I know, I know, it's Winston Cup instead of Busch......but hey, the guy is good on short tracks!! Plus anything can happen on a short track......we'll see tomorrow!!:D Really looking forward to it.:hyper:

Nice job, Jimmy! And good hustling at the end to hold Wimmer off.

Maybe crashing Trackside and upstaging Kurt Busch did the trick. He did look very confident!

And he sure was excited after winning...Hes good on these kind of tracks, and maybe just maybe he can take that excitment to the next level and win tomm. night!

Well........let's not get too carried away now:) I would rather see Jr win but hey, Jimmy ain't bad for a second choice......he needs a little vindication for what Chip did to him at Watson's Glen. I still say a top five.:)

Trackside was hillarious. The way he was goin back and forth with Kurt was awsome. You could tell Kurt was not amused though too.

I thought for sure Wimmer was gonna get him,but congrats go to jimmy for an awsome drive tonight

What exactly happened on Trackside? I dont get speed...too bad for me...

Me neither........poor us!!:(

Kurt Busch was the latest driver being interviewed, after Jeff Gordon upstaged Steve Park, who got a yellow #1 car birthday cake from the t.v. crew. He was in the middle of saying something -- I forget what -- when someone suddenly walks across the stage, blocking the camera with his body, until you realize it's Jimmy Spencer, who then stands behind Mike Joy and Larry McReynold's chairs, since all the others were already filled. Larry Mac gives him his headset so that he can hear himself -- I guess, sensing a juicy confrontation -- and Jimmy and Kurt proceed to exchange some very mild barbs, none of which I can remember, of course. It was all very polite and clean, considering what the kid said about him after Indy! He then wrapped it up nicely and made a quick exit. Pretty damn funny stuff!

I kept thinking that Jeff Gordon's presence kept the incident low key, but it was probably just the national television audience. Sure, they had one at Indy as well, but tempers are more easily controlled off-track.

I've got it on tape! If I ever go visit my folks (who have a couple of vcr's), I can make you a copy! :D

Thx for that info abooja, After hearing that i think I must go call Time Warner and ask for the Speed channel...

I can only get Speed if I get AT&T Broadband's digital service. And they need to assure me that they will respond quicker to my calls than they do for analog!! We have a lot of thief of service here and my cable gets bad when they do. If they will connect to my data drop (to other end of building) I will take it.......they haven't told me if they will. My lose for Speed, but their lose on about 10 bucks more a month.:(

Because I am insane, I took the liberty of transcribing the incident for those of you who missed it:

On set are, from left to right, Jeff Gordon, Kurt Busch, Jeff Hammond, Elliott Sadler, Mike Joy, Larry McReynolds, and Steve Park.

Jeff Gordon: That's why we've won championships and that's why we're fifth in the points. But if there's any statistic we'd like to be leading right now, you know, I'm not so sure that that's the one that we'd really choose...We Wouldn't even be in the thick of the championship right now if it weren't for that lack of DNF's.

Jeff Hammond: Kurt, talking about DNF's and everything...Kurt, you guys were fifth in points...

Big smile on Kurt's face

...Everything was going really good, and then the last three weeks, it seems like the bottom has fallen out. You had some bad luck. You had some engine problems or mechanical problems. How is this affecting your team right now?

Off-camera laughter from Larry Mac and Steve Park. Elliott Sadler and Jeff Gordon smile.

Kurt Busch: Well, we're collecting the wrong kind of stats...

Yellow and black midriff passes in front of camera

...is the term of what we've got going on...

Jimmy Spencer is now behind Mike Joy and Larry Mac.

...some on-track incidents with my buddy...

Kurt points to Jimmy. Lots of laughter from all directions.

Larry McReynolds: Our little family's growing here...

Jeff Gordon: Hey, we've got a seat for him!

Jimmy: Where's the table at?

Points to lack of coffee table on set

Mike Joy: I'm gonna lose my headset because I've lost control of this show...Uh, Jimmy Spencer joins us. Jimmy's about to tee off in the...you gonna play 18, or are you gonna go drive the Busch car?

Jimmy Spencer: Two fifty.

Mike Joy: Two hundred fifty?

Jimmy Spencer: Two hundred fifty laps.

Mike Joy: Thanks for coming by. I...I know you knew Kurt was going to be a guest on this show, and I know you wanted to just come by and wish him well...

Jimmy waves to Kurt, then to others. Kurt has a big smile on his face.

Kurt Busch: How are you doing, man?

Jimmy Spencer: I do. And we have a good race going on tomorrow night. You know, had a good car here in the spring, and had a good Busch car, and hopefully we can better what we did both races.

Larry McReynolds removes his headset and gives it to Jimmy.

Kurt Busch: We were just talking about how it's the Sharpie 500 tomorrow.

Everyone laughs, including Jimmy.

Jimmy Spencer: Hey, you know, that Sharpie's the best pen in the world to write on...No, I had a good car here in the spring -- finished second to Kurt. Had a good Busch car -- finished fourth -- and, hopefully, we can beat that tonight by three, and tomorrow by one.

Mike Joy: Are you exchanging Christmas cards?

Kurt Busch: I don't have his address.

Jimmy Spencer: Oh, really? I'll give it to ya...

Jeff Gordon (to Kurt): He'd actually like for you to stop by. He's got a few things he'd like to talk to you about...

Jimmy Spencer: Now, Jeff...I like you a lot...You be careful where you're going...

Jeff Gordon: Hey, I know where you live.

Lots of laughter

Mike Joy: I think that's what Kurt meant.

Jimmy Spencer: No, I think, Kurt and I know, we learned our lessons. Mike Helton had us in and...it's all over with and we're gonna go on racing and, you know, we look forward to tomorrow night.

Jeff Hammond: But, Jimmy. This is Bristol. Bristol always brings out the unexpected. The moon is coming up, buddy. I've been watching it.

Jimmy looks around for moon.

Mike Joy: Kurt, can you wish him good luck tonight so we can...send him along?...

Kurt Busch: It's terrible for t.v., what they're doing...

More laughter

Jimmy Spencer: You're right. Get to break here. I hope you'se all guys have a great night here tonight. I'm looking forward to having a good night in the Yellow car. I'm looking forward to tomorrow night. Thanks.

Everyone: Good luck!

Mike Joy: You just never know what's gonna happen on this show, do ya?

I thank the hats off should go to wimmer as well,He could have pulled a Jimmy Spencer on Jimmy.

Good call out to Wimmer he could of took Spencer out but did not wanna make a fight at the end of the race

Way to go Jimmy :) Congrats.
Trackside was a good show yesterday. Things were kept pretty light. Park's birthday cake looked great. I thought Jimmy showing up on the set added a lot to the conversation. I agree, Kurt didn't seem happy, but he took everything well. There was some instigating taking place, but thanks to some, humor took over.
