Congrats to Ryan Newman

Yep, congrats to the Rocketman. He had a pretty fair night last Wednesday as well.
 
Hell of a week for Newman and Stewart for sure.
 
Easy to say now but RN is underrated. Glad he got the win, hope it leads to better things next year.

I'll eat some crow, I've never liked Newman and never will but he drove a heck of a race. Qualifies on the pole and wins the race, can't do much better than that. He's still a goon though.
 
Unfortunately I think him and Borland are just now getting up to speed again. You got to remember he started the year with a brand new team as Danica got his. While he does have experience with Borland they haven't been together for years. I wouldn't be surprised if he did win some more races this year. I know Stewart said he wasn't going to 4 teams, but if Newman wins more and sponsors come a calling who knows.
 
So Jeff Gordon is clinging to 10th place with no wins and Ryan is in 16th with one win. If Jeff drops to 11th he's out of the chase and Ryan is in . Or if Ryan wins a second race he makes the chase . Interesting.

Rusty Wallace said on SportsCenter that this is the biggest win of Newman's career, considering he's been in a slump and recently told he would be looking for a new ride next year.
 
The scene in victory lane was eerie . Reminded me of year before last with Darian Grubb . Smile for the camera everyone.
