CONGRATULATIONS JEFF GORDON!

Congrats. Jeff Gordon and whole Dupont team. ( I was pulling for DJ. what the hay.)

;) I don't think he did kiss the bricks... not on TV anyway.
Was that a new metheod of kicking POWERAID out of the interview? He just walked away from his car to give the interview and he did not park wherever the poweraid bottle was.
Betsy ;)

If I recall correctly, they usually kiss the bricks well after the TV coverage is over. It was spontaneous when Dale Jarrett did it in 1996, but it's become staged since then and they have to have all the cameras in the right place.

Congrats to JG.

Nice job getting around the Poweraid thing too! "I won't even go to victory lane for my celebration, they can show that on the highlights tonight on ESPN..."

Well, Jeff did most of his celebrating on the track.
I laffed at the official trying to get him to go where he was
supposed to be. LOL

Wonder if NASCAR will penalize Jeff for celebrating on the track????

  :D  :XXROFL: :XXROFL: :XXROFL:

Congrats to Jeff and the gang :bounce:

The question now is, will NASCAR fine them for not celebrating in "Powerade" Victory Lane? Will there be a new rule next week?
How much will the fine be? ......Do you think I'm being a cynical old lady? <_<

I'm sure Jeff will 'eventually' end up in victory lane. They've got his trophey and check up there!

Did he say that?

Really, I don't know. My wife changed the channel as soon as they threw the checkered flag and I went to make my daughters their dinners.

I would have loved to have seen that, but my girls had been nagging me for the last 10 laps or so that they were "starving"

No...he might have thought that, but he's smart enough to not say it out loud!

(cuz that WOULD be detrimental to the...........well you know.)

DOMINANCE. the one thing gordon did today, he had the car on semi-long runs and especially on the restarts.

Oh Yeah! Congrats to the 24 team on winning their 4th Brickyard 400. Off to Watkins Glen..woo hoo!

Not having many lapped cars was one of the keys. He didn't have to worry about anyone inside so he could stay close to the wall and make a slow leisurely restart. Then rocket away from the 2nd place person. I'm sure the slow restarts caused the 1 wreck. Now if I could only figure why Petty wanted to start inside when the 1st 8 cars blew by him like he was driving Miss Daisy...

Congratulations to Jeff Gordon and the entire #24 team on a well deserved and dominating win,win #69 for Jeff Gordon. :D
Too many late restarts in that race for Me,but Jeff handled the restarts in great fashion and was rewarded with the checkers. :D

Lil'E did it this year at Daytona with no consequences. Gordon and Hendricks are smart enough to choose their battles. Bottlegate could get very interesting for those within earshot but I doubt those of us on the outside ever hear much of the doings...
