Congratulations Jimmie Johnson

Oh by the way, in case anybody missed it yesterday with all the extracurricular activity after the race, Jimmie Johnson got career Cup win #70.

Congrats, Jimmie!

He will likely win the next two races .

You're next champion, and the exact reason why all numbers are declining in NASCAR.

o_O

NASCAR is the reason all numbers are declining in NASCAR.

No ****, they've changed the points system so that the overall best driver isn't rewarded with the championship, the 48 team has benefited from this greatly.

It doesn't help that he's the most vanilla nascar driver in the history of the sport.

better stick to the panthers whatever that is.o_O I bet you can make a bundle on your prediction of Nascar's demise. What date will that be BTW? White and Blue didn't work too well, but Red did it. Hope they don't change the color for the rest of the season at least.

They got their Texas speed from testing at Homestead, so hopefully that'll translate to JJ's first win in the season finale :D

As much as I'd like to be a little happy about seeing a Jimmie Johnson win I just can't be. In the Chase or not, I still find myself at the end of the races saying to myself, anybody but Jimmie. It really doesn't have anything to do with the number of championships or wins. Denney Hamlin is another driver that falls under that category for me.

Doubting that Double J frequents this forum I'll simply say congrats to you Jimmie Johnson fans out there. You guys/gals are okay. It's just that damn driver you root for. ;)

Chad was talking about that on Press pass. Pretty interesting stuff. He said Homestead was a lot like Texas Speedway. Chad also said he wasn't going anywhere, but that probably won't stop the off season rumor mills.

Yeah, his contract goes through the end of next year, but I'm sure he and Rick will work something out quickly if he does intend to stay for another extended period of time. I'd love to see them tie or exceed Dale sr/richard petty together as a team. I'm sure chad wants that to happen under his direction.

Can't remember his exact words, but it was something like, I'm not going anywhere, what would I do? as long as the organization doesn't have a problem with it I'm not going to go anywhere.. Pretty strong statement, I think he wanted to make sure the rumor mill didn't have any ammunition, because they were already asking him questions about it.

The man is dedicated to his job, that's for sure.

I have absolutely no evidence at all to back it up, but it looks like Chad got into a serious relationship this year, and I think his relationship took some time away from the job, and his relationships with the crew and with Jimmie. Former Sprint Cup Girl Brooke Werner..go figure. She has perfect teeth? :growl:
