Congrats to Matt on getting win #5 on the season, and, as of now, the points lead when the Chase starts. That win also pulls Toyota back into a tie with Chevy for wins this season, as they now have 10 apiece.

And all the respect in the world to Kasey Kahne for not dumping him. I know it probably had to be tempting given his history with JGR this year.

Hey, I'm all for it! I just have to start preemptively rooting against Matt since it looks like he's gonna be one of the guys to watch during the Chase, lol!

congrats to Kenseth. if he can stay consistent, hes gota be a top thre favorite for the title

Congrats to Matt , thank you for saving my ass in the pools .

Congratulations on winning one of the best races of the year.

Ted, I had him until the last minute and then switched him out for Gordon :( However, I'll take a Kenseth win over some Nascar League any day!

Oh yea of little faith.

Congrats Kenseth! I wanted Edwards to win that so bad. I think if his engine didn't go, it would have been him that took the checkers. Fantastic finish.

On a related note, it's scary to imagine how many wins Kyle Busch would probably have this season (in Cup) if he wasn't focusing on winning in Nationwide, Trucks and in the big money Late Model races.

I dunno man, it's tough to argue with those five wins.

It is and it's even harder to argue his performance on Chase tracks. I think its gonna be him and JJ battling it out for the championship. I don't see anybody beating those two.

The 20 team did good last night

They did.

However, Kasey Kahne appears to be taking some heat for not driving dirty and allowing this win to actually happen. Man, it's going to be sweet when the next time an HMS driver gets turned the wrong way and their fans start soaking the board with tears.

It'll be double standards going for $2.49 per dozen.

Why all this talk of dirty racing and turning people? The bump and run or slide job is about getting the preferred line away from the leader. There are so many 1 groove tracks in nascar, it's the only way to settle things. If Kahne had gotten Matt a little loose and made the pass, Matt had plenty of time to get back to him and return the favor.....IF he was actually faster.

Nicey nice racing is for open wheel. These cars have Fenders and Bumpers on them for a reason.

It sure looked like many teams beefed up the front bumpers for this race. Kez nailed Reutti and barely showed a mark. JJ's first contact barely showed on his front end except for a small hole.

Kenseth has 3 DNF's this year. Two engine failures and the #24's mess at the first Bristol race. Maybe we should give him one of those often played "bad luck" cards ;)
Bad luck with 5 wins? Any team from 10th-15th would love some of Kenseth's bad luck

Kahne's getting a lot of flack for not dirty driving his way to victory. And honestly, I don't think the bump and run is nearly as effective at Bristol as it used to be. Matt was up high, and that was the best ot the two lines. Nowhere to "get him out of the preferred line" without either spinning him out or stuffing him.

kahne may have felt he was too close to missing the chase to get too aggressive. I also think kahne thought he could get around him cleanly. remember these guys have to race one another every week. personally I would have raced matt with more contact. being up that high did make it hard to nudge the bumper, but I think I would have drove in the corner a little harder pushing his back bumper then duck under.

Well, just like everyone said "Gordon is fine with a second place finish at Pocono" Next week at the Glen: Wrecked out on lap 13. Let's see how Kasey does at Atlanta before we figure out if second place was the good choice for point racing.

lol at those ripping on the #5 car. He's not a dirty driver and certainly wasn't going to wreck Matt when he's publicly called out that team for the incidents he's had.

I thought he had Matt a couple times but just couldn't fully hold the bottom line. He and Gordon were about the only two cars good on the bottom.

Great race - we had a blast on our first of many Bristol trips.
