Terry Labonte is the winner of the final Southern 500 on Labor Day, Congratulations to them !

What a great win for a really classy guy. That team needed a win about as badly as you can need one. The pit crew did a great job getting him out in front and Terry did the rest. Just a very smooth finish by a veteran driver who showed he still knows how to finish when he gets the chance.

Congrats Texas Terry :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

Yep congrats. Texas Terry. It's been a long time comming. And another great run by Kevin Harvick.

Did anyone notice.... the #5 Hendrick Chevys swept the weekend.

While I'm at it...Congrats to Terry's fans. You guys have been waiting a long time to celebrate a win like this. Now you've even got a long weekend to celebrate a little longer ;)

Great job to Terry and Biffle(for staying in the top 10). Terry showed that an old guy can go against the youngins! :bounce: B)

Way to go Ice Man! Evryone should "DRINK MILK" tonight. :D

B) Great job by Terry! It's been a long time coming for him and it was nice to see a veteran win the last Labor Day Southern 500.

Im not that happy for him :p I cant stand to drink milk....it's so nasty.

Whatta great win for one helleuva good guy !!!!!!! Way to go Terry !!!!!

But I gotta ask, what the devil were Junior and Newman thinking ????? Those two guys were eight and nine laps down with no chance of gaining anything and they want to race the leaders to get a lap back ?????????

I doubt the clammor over that move by those two will reach the decibel level of last week, but WOW !!!!! Since no one will ever know if Harvick could have passed LaBonte or not for the win, in any case, they surely screwed Harvick, and maybe that was the intent, but under the circumstances, they showed the leaders a lack of whatever it was Sterling was talking to Kurt about yesterday.

And one more thing while I'm on a rant. Note the absence of caution flags by questionable means this week compared to last ?? At least this week they seemed justified.

And Matt, talk about outhouse luck !!!! There is no question about it. He is definitely carrying both the four leaf clover and rabbit's foot plus has Lady Luck sitting on his shoulder. Just as in at least two of the years Gordon won his championships, Matt can do no wrong. And that's a good thing.

Yeah, I have to say that battling Jr and Newman were having and then Newman's car getting into Harvick just slightly really screwed Harvick up.

Harvick always has something to say about everyone and everything. Cant he ever be happy? And them two were out there for points(thats what the announcers were saying). What would you do if you were a winston cup driver?

I just chalk Kevin's comments up to extreme fatigue, and some frustration.

I agree that Ryan and Kevin should have gotten out of the way of the leaders that last restart.

I agree with Harvick, I dont know what in the hell those 2 were thinking.

Good run Happy, and congrats to Texas Terry Labonte. Glad to see the good ol #5 back in Victory Lane!

Great run by Terry Labonte. A very fitting winner of the final Southern 500 on Labor Day Weekend.

As for Jr and Newman. I don't know what they were doing up there battling with the leaders on the last restart. They weren't battling each other either. One was 8 laps down, the other 9. So all they were was a hinderance to Harvick. I don't blame Harvick for being a little hot about it.

Well, Newman and Earnhardt were out there they were 7 or 8 laps down I dont know what they were battling for.

Do you know personaly that they were battling each other? They were prob. trying to get some laps back, but maybe they should have done what Jeff Gordon did and got off the track. But it dosnt matter now because this has been a long awaited victory for Terry.

I'm not saying they were battling each other I'm saying what the hell were they racing for? Theyre lapped cars they shouldve done gotten outta the way

Yes your right, they should have gotten off when Gordon did but they didnt. Im glad Terry won it...no offense, I just dont like Harvick.

Harvick is the man right now, the only driver to score more points than Kenseth over the last 6-7 weeks.

Aye, Harvick's getting there, he probably wont catch Kenseth for the championship but I think he'll take second in the points and he'll have a few wins with it before seasons end.

Yes but his attitude sucks. He trash talks drivers about their attitudes(for exapmle, Kurt) when him his self also had one. Then about his own team mate at the road course (gah forget the name), thats when I started to dislike him. But you like him and thats good, I just dont.

Yup he might take second.

I couldnt be any happier to see Terry win. Nice to see one of the "old guns" and one of the more classier drivers on the circuit win. I knew he had some wins left in him, it was only a matter of time. What a turn-around that team has done.

Junior and Newman were being hazards out there, racing each other while both are more than 5 laps down and with less than 20 laps left in the race, they should just have moved out of the way, but it wasnt going to matter because Kevin wasnt going to catch Terry.

And damn Im mad, Robby had a top 5 run going until he had that flat tire.

I think someone already pointed it out but I quess I can say it, one of them was 9 laps down and the other was 8 so they had no reason to be racing. It dosnt matter now beacause no one wrecked and Terry deserved it.

What a great picture...

Oh I know and his crew climbing the fence...they really enjoyed it. Very happy for them, they deserved it.

What I was waiting for was Bobby to come running up and jumping on Terry :p

But what happened to the burn out? :p He should have done a burn out after he came around with the flag. What a great guy

Here's your answer:

"I am too old to do doughnuts," Labonte said. "I think it's goofy looking. I watch those guys do that all of the time, and I just wonder to myself what the look would be on Junior Johnson's face if you'd done that to one of his cars."

LOLOL.....Well he can do what he wants because he won it :) He's cool

I was certainly glad to see Terry in victory lane. Didn't really think that I might see him with a win again, but it couldn't happen to a better driver to win the Southern 500.
