Congratulations WildThing!

I sure am glad I picked Kyle on my fantasy picks. Is that good enough:)

I wish I had! I'd still be up there with you. I made the mistake and picked his brother. *sigh*

I'm happy Kyle was so happy to win in his hometown. :D

You're still ahead of me. Kelloggs passed both of us though.

I would still like to see Kyle Busch drive something other than a Hendrick Chevy or Joe Gibbs Toyota. He has never come across as overly talented so much as being a product of over-financed teams. Theres a reason he falls apart in the Chase.

I disagree - 100%.

Kyle Busch is a factor in every race he runs - Trucks, Nationwide, CRA or Cup. Kyle Busch raced with Eddie D'Hondt at Watkins Glen last year and was a factor. Yes, D'Hondt Motorsports is a good organization but it's not Hendrick/Roush/Gibbs. And the only reason Kyle Busch didn't win that race is because a Cup driver racing a Cup-level car spun him out with 3 to go - oh, and the Wildthing still finished 2nd.

Let's compare Kyle to your boy Vickers (I assume he's your driver since that's your AV) who have driven the same car in Nationwide.

How many wins does Kyle have racing for Braun? How many wins does Brian Vickers have driving car #32 for Braun Racing?

Oh, I'm sorry -- Vickers hasn't won a race in Nationwide since 2003 when he was racing full-time for Hendrick. Look at how well Mark Martin's done in the #5 car. 2 DNFs. Perhaps that is what was holding Kyle back from winning championships much sooner.

Like him or not, you can't question talent when it's right in front of you. And Kyle Busch has an enormous amount of talent -- the scary part is that he's learning how to control it, and that's what makes him dangerous.

We will have to agree to disagree. I dont think Busch has all that much talent, and it really shows when its crunch time and he is routinely outclassed by pretty much every driver in the Chase. He is good enough to get there with what Joe Gibbs gives him, but in the final 10 he is a non-factor.

Most of the non-factor finishes in the chase were a result of failures from the "over-fininanced" team that he belongs to. Last year alone, engine and part failures were what were the major factor behind him being "out-classed." We'll really have to see what happens this year, and if his team is up to the chase. I'm sure he is, but can his team back him up when it comes to crunch time? Hopefully they learned from their failures of last year and are better prepared to handle to pressure.

Personally, I think it's hilarious that someone who roots for Brian Vickers has the audacity to say Kyle Busch is overrated. :lol2:

I personally think there's a lot of talent when someone can take a car run by an ARCA team and run it out front in the Nationwide Series.

In case you weren't watching last season, Kyle won 20 races in 3 different series. Not all of the wins came in JGR equipment...

Blindness is a known side-effect of a Kyle Busch hater's favorite sports drink.

Some people just don't know talent when it's right in front of you....SPIKE:growl:

I am a Vickers fan, although it isn't exclusive. I also like David Ragan quite a bit. I will stick by an axiom that I truly enjoy, stick Kyle Busch in any other car and hes Kurt Busch.

But he has been in another car in all series (except cup) and won. You can't deny, he's got talent. You don't have to like him, but liking the driver and recognizing talent are two different things.

Now as far as sticking him in another car...remember, Vickers was the one in the over-funded Hendrick car at one time. Stick him in another car, and he's...well...Brian Vickers.

You're just bitter because he whips your driver's a$$ every weekend...

Kyle is the man. The guy knows exactly what his car can and can't do 99% of the time and takes it to its absolute limit. Or until something breaks like what happened in the Chase last year.

Vickers, on the other hand, is a really good driver but you never know which Vickers is going to show up. The calm, calculated Vickers that knows how to race with the big boys and ends up in the top 10 or 15 or the maniac Vickers who is all over the place and drives like he doesn't know what to do next.

Vickers usually drives as good as who is around him, where Kyle knows how to get around the donkeys quickly without hurting his car, most of the time.

Race fans say they want someone who doesn't sugarcoat what they feel.

Race fans say they want someone who wants to win every race and will go for it every lap instead of riding around collecting points.

Race fans say they want someone who's not happy with second place.

Race fans got what they wanted with the Wildthing and they hate him.

Well said, Andy. I think they are just ticked off that the guy who fits that spot isn't named Earnhardt, who is starting to look more and more like a guy who rides around collecting a paycheck and points.

I think Kyle has tons of talent and I've even seen a maturity to him this year in his interviews where he's not quite the abrasive person he has been in the past. I still think he's wreckless at times despite his talent. I had to laugh last weekend when one of the dingbat announcers said Jeff just gave up the spot and let Kyle go. What choice did Jeff have? Kyle was so close under him and Jeff was missing most of his fender. It was either let him go or fight him for it and risk totaling out his car. LOL Jeff made the smart choice. I don't think Kyle always makes the smart choice. I've seen him go 3, 4 even 5 wide and he's lucky in those incidents that others don't lose it and take him out. Or - others lose it and he manages to drive away. ;) That being said, I was happy for him to win in his hometown. I know how exciting that must be for a driver and it was obvious how much it meant to him.

For me it had nothing to do with that he wasn't an Earnhardt or a Gordon why I couldn't stand him last year. It was all his attitude. For one, I was sick of watching the same person win all the time. The same goes for JJ and I can certainly understand why people didn't like Jeff when he was winning all the time. Variety makes things a lot more interesting. FWIW. :)

say goodnight gracie - classic <g> i enjoy watching kyle drive and i enjoy his attitude now that he's more reserved. i hope he doesn't let the sport tame him. we have enough milk toast drivers. hmm, that's kind of harsh. we have enough politically correct drivers. :)

Just FYI, it wasn't Kyle that said goodnight gracie. Was his spotter. Kyle said later that he didn't even know what the hell it meant:p

thanks for the correction VaDirt :) i wonder how many others watching knew what it meant without going to ask.com <g>

We didn't hear what was said and all the guys were laughing at it and for the one time we WISHED they would have replayed something (like other things they do a hundred times) they didn't. It wasn't until I watched VL that I heard what was said and that it wasn't Kyle who said it. :)
