COT Passes another test
By Greg Engle, Cup Scene Daily
Another test for the Car Of Tomorrow is in the record books and it seems that again the new car passed with flying colors.
Several drivers had predicted that because the 1-mile Phoenix Raceway was the longest track for the COT to date, that there might be problems. Only two of the cautions of the races six however were caused by accidents.
"It is still a race car, there are still the same issues," Jimmie Johnson who finished fifth said. "I think we will all learn how to drive this car and how to adjust this car. It still is aero tight and I don't think we will ever get that out of any car, anywhere. It doesn't matter if it is open wheel, closed body, whatever. It is just racing, that is what happens. We are all learning, we are all getting better. As you saw tonight, there were probably five or six cars fighting for a win and put on a good show for the fans."
The next test for the COT will come in two weeks at Richmond International Raceway.
