COT VS HAULERS

I read recently on Nascar . Com that apparently J. Gibbs
Racing has stated that the new Car of Tommorow will not
fit within their current car hauler , rather interesting since
no other competitor's have raised this concern. Is this just
a problem within Gibbs ? Has anyone else heard similar
complaints elsewhere...Smurf !

I think they reported on this first last September on Jayski and this is a problem all the teams have had . Featherlite has been reto fitting trailers at a cost of about 22k each to cut down the cabinets after trying a method of putting the cars on trays and taking the wheels off that no one found exceptable.. All the cots have been transported in open trailers (no cabinets) to the tests so far as I know .

Thanks Multi , just found it rather
strange that I had not heard from any other teams with this problem. I had been advised that Open Haulers might have been used , but no confirmation...guess Gibbs was right then !

This is false.

One of the gripes team owners had when trying to block the change was this minor issue that the COT wouldn't fit into a regular hauler. Bodine made a great comment; "interesting, every single one that showed up to testing came in an exsisting hauler."

The COT fits in the current haulers.

If I can find the exact quote I'll link it up.

edit: - I was wrong, the quote was from Mike Fisher, the new managing director of NASCAR's Research and Development Center

Others have said they will have to buy new haulers because the cars won't fit in the old ones. Fisher thought that was strange since every COT brought to tracks for testing arrived in current haulers.
