Could Kyle get fired!

I find it interesting that everyone is slamming Busch yet Hendrick obviously shuns his employees who he no longer waits. Did we forget about Vickers?? Banned from meetings, treated like crap.

Hendirick is NASACAR'S Golden boys and they think they are the best but guess what, your not!!!

It will be intersting to see how it plays out. While I agree that its not nice to be shunned so early in the season, is Kyle cutting his nose off to spite his face??? I'm sure potential owners are looking at this to see if they would get thrown under the bus as well if theire time ever came. Hopefully he'll find his new home quickly so he can move on.

I totally agree with you. I'm surprised that he wasn't locked out of meetings 2 weeks ago. I really got a bad tast in my mouth about HMS whey they threw Vickers out with the days trash. I say good for Kyle for calling a spade a spade.

I would fire his Azz. When an employee thinks he is bigger than the organization it is time to let him/her go. Time for Shrub to learn some of life's lessons.

As for Jr, this will turn out to be a great career move on his part and his fan base will increase.

i think a lot of this has to do with Kyle running his mouth....the kid is 22 years old and has already been through the 2 best teams in the garage.

Jayski.com is reporting that he could be let go today.

And now for a rare glimpse at what I look like...

Bye-bye, shrub...miss you...we don't...

Bud4me and muggle hit the nail on the head...

Kyle is digging his own grave... and I'm not talking about HMS. He's building a reputation of someone who is difficult to work with and self-focused. It's not a good sign if you can't even suck it up for a couple of and finish your contract no matter how 'bad' the conditions are.

He's gonna need an 'adjustment' before too long or he'll be without a ride!

The major problem have is that there are thousands of drivers out there that would love to have the oppurtunity to race NNC, Kyle should be happy he's in the series and on a good team.

There are plenty of drivers out there that have been in Cup for years and years and will never get the chance to run for guys like Jack Roush or Rick Hendrick, to be able to say at age 22 that you have ran for both of them is outstanding. But for both of those guys to basically say they dont want to work with him again means something.

If he wants to win championships, he's ran off two of the best owners in the series.

Kyle Busch out of the #5? this week? DENIED AutoRacingSport.com has learned from several sources that Hendrick Motorsports is considering letting Kyle Busch out of his contract with the team as early as Monday. NOTE: hard to believe the sponsors [Kelloggs/Carquest] would agree to let a driver who is 9th in the Chase, to be released and seems doubtful such a thing would happen.(7-16-2007)
HOWEVER: Still unhappy After criticizing his teammates for not providing help at Daytona International Speedway last week, #5-Kyle Busch expressed displeasure with Hendrick Motorsports again this weekend. The 22-year-old, who is being replaced by Dale Earnhardt Jr. after this season, said he felt alienated during team meetings and questioned strategy after giving up the lead on a pit stop late in Saturday's Busch race. Team owner Rick Hendrick said the team intends to keep Busch in the #5 Chevrolet through the end of the season but is perplexed by the driver's dissatisfaction. "It just doesn't make sense to me," Hendrick said. "We're working as hard as we can."(USA Today)(7-16-2007)
UPDATE: Hendrick Motorsports has confirmed that the rumor is false.(HMS)(7-16-2007)

...and questioned strategy after giving up the lead on a pit stop late in Saturday's Busch race.

Seems I remember some very smart person on these very boards asking that very question. Now who was that...hmmm...seems to me that it was ME. Darn sometimes I surprise even myself...

I seem to recall that Kyle was snookered by Burton into pitting:

JOLIET, Ill. It wasn't so much that Kevin Harvick won Saturday's Durock 300 as that Kyle Busch lost it.

Busch, in what his competitors called the car to beat, was leading when Jeff Burton faked him into the pits with 33 laps left in the race for NASCAR Busch Series cars at Chicagoland Speedway.

Under caution, Burton, running second, turned toward the pit road for the benefit of Busch's mirror. Busch drove onto the pit road while Burton turned hard right and stayed on the track.

The top contender for the victory was snookered, and Burton, Harvick and Matt Kenseth could settle it among themselves.

Jayski: UPDATE: hearing Kyle Busch will sign with Dale Earnhardt Inc to run for them in 2008, the deal could be announced at Indianapolis next week.(7-16-2007)

A lot of what I see overlooked by most of the people posting here is that Kyle Busch, at 22, has more natural, raw talent than Jr. has had ever.
Kyle Busch will have no problem finding a good seat to sit in.
Dale Jr. is as good as he's ever going to be. Kyle Busch is just starting. Kyle Busch, in the right car, with the right team is going to drive by Jr. like he's parked.
Dale Jr.'s popularity stems from his father's name, not form his prowess. Dale Jr. is a marketable entity only because of his last name, not because of what he's accomplished.

I read somewhere that Kyle was hanging around Jr and the Bud team alot over the last few days. Interesting. DEI and Hendrick should go ahead and get it over with. Switch the drivers now if DEI wants him.

We have seen this so often, but it's usually with not so good drivers.
It will be interesting to see what developes.

Unfortunately for Kurt though, that could be said of probably hundreds of other drivers as well. Many who only briefly sniffed a cup ride like a Casey Atwood and many who never got that far because talent alone isn't nearly enough at this level. I know I've mentioned Casey on here before and many people in here may have never heard of him or just barely remember the name. That kid had more raw talent than I have seen hit the cup series in a very long time. But he also was a hot-head who wore out his welcome before he could wear out a good seat. It happens.

I don't think talent - as he obviously has it - will be the deciding factor in how successful he becomes in Nascar.

Attitude and ego, however, very well may be.

I also think that if he stays with HMS, thing could get ugly during the last ten races. He has nothing to lose and already feels he has no support from the other 3 teams so why not wreak a little havock?

...because he signed a contract and other teams/owners are watching...

This stuff doesn't matter as much as it should anymore, but it still matters.

I don't believe we've been watching the same HMS/Busch soap opera unfold. :)

Busch is in a snit fit with HMS and, IMO, thinks that he can pick and choose which team will bend over backwards to have him.

If he was/is the hot commodity he believes himself to be, Mears would be the driver looking for a job in '08.

OH SNAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kyle Busch DEI seems to be a done deal

Despite public denials from Hendrick Motorsports, Kyle Busch’s future for the rest of 2007 could still be in doubt.

His 2008 season however, appears to be at Dale Earnhardt Incorporated. DEI officials have come to terms with Busch to fill the seat of the No. 8 Chevy being vacated by Dale Earnhardt Junior at the end of this season. The announcement could come this week or early next week.

Meanwhile officials at Hendrick publicly denied reports Monday that Busch was fired, but privately one source said he has been ‘put on notice’.

Rick Hendrick was reportedly enraged at comments made by Busch after the Pepsi 400 and this past weekend at Chicagoland. According to Busch when he made it known that he was leaving Hendrick he became an ‘outsider’.

“I’m not helping anybody but myself and this team for winning races,” Busch said at Chicagoland. “And I’m not helping Jeff Gordon. I’m not helping Jimmie Johnson or Casey Mears. They are able to go back and see what I run and that kind of stuff. But for me, it’s just to go out there and to try to win races and keep winning with my name.”

“Obviously you can’t continue the way it’s going with his comments,” Hendrick Motorsports Vice-President of Development Doug Duchardt said Sunday. “Our goal was to finish out the season working just like we had at the beginning of the season. And if he’s choosing to not be a teammate, then we’re going to have to address how his role is going to be within the team and what he’s going to need to do.

It’s a difficult situation being made more difficult than it needs to be.”
