Could Rusty Wallace Win The Championship without winning a Race?

alot of people was saying this about gordon a month ago but with rusty 6th in points 137 out of 1st could he win the championship without winning a race?

I Say Yes I mean he made it this far without winning and is still 6th in points and only 137 out of 1st so all he needs imo is finish in the top 10 from here out and the championship his depending on what everybody else does.
 
Yes, depending on what everyone else does. You have five drivers ahead of him who have been real consistent in the last few races, except for Marlin. But like its been said, many times before, anything can happen.
 
Thoeretically, yes. But a win would help move him up there.

It's all about consistency. Just look at the Rookie of the year battle. Johnson could end up winning the championship, but Newman will end up winning the ROTY b/c he's has an amazing 14 top-5's. But Newman isn't consistent.
 
"Time Will Tell" for the Championship, anybodys game, I'd like to see Johnson take it and have the ironic situation where Newman gets Rookie Of The Year. BTW who is Stephanie McMahon or do I not want to know.
 
My crystal ball is still in the shop. Something to do with the tuner.
 
I would like to see johnson win it just so nascar will change there roty system, will if they don't they will look like fools to the racing comunity.
 
I'm still pulling for Shepherd. He could still take this championship by storm. You watch.

Actually on RPM tonight last night they talked about the rookie of the year contest. Apparently some of the points for the competition are awarded at the end of the year by nascar based on how they feel about the drivers (who should get the extra points and who shouldn't) They said that it would be unlikely that Johnson would win the Cup Title and not the ROTY competition because Jimmie would surely get those points from the people that vote for who gets the last alotment of ROTY points!

As for Rusty winning the title. I would say with the consistency that Penske South has shown as of late Rusty or Ryan could easily being sitting at the head table on a Cold Winter night n NYC hoisting that big Winston Cup Trophy and wearing the hans device underneath their Tuxedo!

I was just over at the Hendricks Shops. They have all of the Hendricks Winston Cup Titles sitting right in the front of the complex. Pretty neat stuff! They aren't even enclosed in glass. You can actually touch those suckers!!! I had to touch a couple of the Jeff Gordon cup titles knowing that Brooke probably touched them too! Heck Is she going to get half of those titles too??????????????????
 
I sure do hope that Rusty doesn't win the title. I don't think I could sit thought that banquet knowing that he was about to accept the cup. Ugh.:rolleyes: Anybody but Rusty...........and I do mean anybody!
 
Wouldn't that be something. A so called champion and a losser every weekend, how can you do that? A champion is supposed to be a winner.
 
Heck Rusty Wallace and Bill Elliott (Good Old Bill From Dawsonville) used to wrack up 3 times the wins in one season as Mr Dale Earnhardt and they lost the titles

and why are we picking on sharperd and his sponcer? i dont see nothing wrong with it.
