My friend Dirk from downunder has told me that their winning Super V8 Ford driver is thinking of giving NASCAR a shot, ala Marcos Ambrose. And get this, his name is Jamie Wincup. I just love that name. Anyway, Dirk told me that Jamie is a teammate with Craig Lownes, someone that Dirk told me that I've mentioned to him before. Hmmm, CRS with me, but nonetheless, I'll be looking for Jamie to make an appearance. Oh and by the way, Jamie, like Marcos, is a Ford man. I hear those Ford fanatics downunder are having fits with Ambrose driving a Toyota these days. :)

Just remember you heard it from me first, the name Jamie Wincup.

i thought you were against foreign drivers in nascar? fine by me if he wants to give it a go though. marcos has done fairly well.

You have a good memory. It was foreign drivers that killed the old USAC series which was the Indy series and I'm afraid that will be the end all of NASCAR, among other things. However, saying this as easily as I can, with my friend in another country having interest in a driver from his country, it is easier for me to pull for him. I've said this time and time again, hypocracy has no place in auto racing. Any fan can say one thing and then turn around and back what they criticized.

But because you asked, there are two reasons that I'd pull for an Aussie. 1, and this will surely piss off the liberals of this site (you know who you are), Australia is very similar to this country in just about every way, and they are an ENGLISH speaking country. I love their accent. Secondly, outside of England, Australia is probably our biggest ally...Kiwi's included.

But the reason I posted this in the first place is because I wanted to get some reaction of the forum about what my friend suggested my happen.

I'd rank Canada ahead of Australia.

Canada, our socialist freinds of the great white north, ahead of Australia? We'll throw another shrimp on the barbie and good day to you mate, did you misplace your crack pipe. Oh, you are from Oklahoma, a meth head state.

Canada is the stronger ally of the two. Larger military with equal technology, more in line with US foreign policy, etc.

if you want to discuss racing, then do so. If you want to discuss politics then take it to the podium. If you are going to insult members you will soon find yourself ...............

I've been following V8 Supercars for a few years. Whincup is great, it would be interesting to see him try it out.

No no he'll need to change his name. Kyle Busch is already known as Whinecup...

I love Marcos Ambrose. Who can think of a nicer guy? Plus, he's really starting to learn and get better. I have to love Aussies. They were my Dad's allies in WWII and they took good care of him when he got malaria in god foresaken New Guinea. Dad and some of his Aussie army buddies remained friends until they died.
